I would even venture to call it a BL masterpiece.

Absolutely, I have to agree with you. I've seen a total of 125 BLs, and only four have earned a perfect 10 out of 10. In my opinion, "Our Youth" truly deserving the title of a masterpiece. The writing was profound, the connection was palpable, and I genuinely appreciated the character development from beginning to end. Was it challenging to watch at times? Yes, but I believe it was ultimately rewarding.
As for the Kenshin scandal, I'm not familiar with it. I usually avoid looking up news about projects or actors, as I worry it might spoil my viewing experience. Additionally, I feel many scandals these days seem exaggerated; people will seize any opportunity to create a scandal that can tarnish reputations or even careers. I'm not implying that this is the case with the Kenshin scandal, just sharing my perspective on the nature of scandals in general.
Oh, and another 2025 drama that nearly reached masterpiece status for me was "When It Rains, It Pours", but I found Fujisawa's character difficult to tolerate. The way his actions were portrayed throughout the series and then resolved in the end didn't sit right with me, so I had to deduct half a point, bringing my rating down to 9.5. Nevertheless, it remains my second favorite BL of the year.
