Day *; Favorite Japanese Bl

Honestly I've watched series from 2021-2023 but I'll say Jack O' Frost

I found this series through the BL Watch Challenge, and I got hooked on Ritsu and Fumiya’s story!

@dora

Speaking of The love never sets- I am so glad that my favorite couple in the series is finally together lol 😂🥰😍💖

BL Challenge Day 8 - Favorite Japanese BL in 2025

Wow, this is super hard to answer because I’m honestly obsessed with Japanese series, and this year we got some really good ones. Since I’ve praised it so much already, it’s no surprise that my favorite Japanese series is Chosen Home, even though you can’t really call it a BL. Same with The Journey to Killing You and When It Rains, It Pours, which would be my second and third picks. So my actual BL favorites end up being a tie between School Trip: Joined a Group I’m Not Close With, Therapy Game and Punks Triangle. And I’ve gotta give honorable mentions to 10 Things I Want to Do Before I Turn 40, Depth of Field, Love Sea, and Stay By My Side After the Rain.

And since I'm talking about School Trip: Joined a Group I’m Not Close With, episode 8 was just adorable. Hioki’s confession felt so special because it came straight from his heart, with his feelings spilling out honestly. But what really won me over in this series are “The Guys,” Watarai’s friends. They’re the popular kids, yet instead of fitting the usual stereotypes, they’re kind, thoughtful, and basically the biggest matchmakers for Watarai and Hioki.  😍

BL Challenge Day 9 - Favorite new ship/couple of 2025

Boys in Love was the series that introduced us to a bunch of new actors to keep an eye on: Aston, Chokun, Paul, Ken, Aun, Luke, and Mick.

I already chose them as cuties, but they also fit the theme of the day  : Tle-FirstOne

I have to agree with you. Also, I’m a sucker for fan service and WilliamEst off-screen are so fun to watch! I hope they are at least close friends in real life. Even if it’s all an act, I’m here for it. In any case, we will definitely get to see more of them on and offscreen.

Day 9 - Favorite new ship/couple of 2025

BigPark (Monster Next Door, Me and Who) - I realize Monster Next Door was last year, but I didn't watch it until earlier this year, and it was GOLD. I don't usually ever care what actors have going on in their real life, but I care about Big and Park so immensely. Not only is their dynamic just everything I've ever needed ever, but they are the CUTEST on social media. I keep saying this, but they need to make a Thai version/remake of Love Tractor and cast them in it.... they're literally perfect !!! I will watch anything BigPark, my lovelies <3

Honorable Mentions: MickLuke, PoddPapang, ChokunAston

That was such a good series filled with all cuties. For me, Chokun & Aston stole the series, because they felt more like the primary main couple. Mick & Luke were good in their own way, but they just felt more like a secondary couple.

I LOVED THIS SERIES! I actually just watched it for the first time a little over a week ago before watching and completing Me and Who this past week. I adore Big & Park together.

I have not been able to keep up with challenges because I have exams. Like any other Law exams I went into it and conquered 💪 because the exam that will fail me does not exist and it will never 😝 the paper shrinks in my presence MUHHAHAHA

Anyway lol to the challenges I missed:

Day 4 - Favourite 2025 Chinese Drama

Revenged Love - The OST still lives in my mind to this day.

Day 5 - Ship you were most sad about ending in 2025

I do not really pay attention to ships anymore.

Day 6 - Most Evil parent or grandparent in a 2025 BL

Sangmin's mother in Sangmin Dinneaw: Uncut

Runner up - Prince Ramil's father - The Next Prince: Uncut

Day 7 - Favourite non-Asia LGBTQ+ drama/movie of 2025

I did not watch any. I rarely watch anything outside of BL when it comes to LGBTQ+

Day 8 - Favourite Japanese BL 2025

J-BLs and I do not really get along 😕

I totally get it.

okay ended up finishing revamp , I was on episode 5 so half way when I made the last comment & definitely found that it started to pick up more after this so actually found more enjoyment as I felt more engaged. I actually genuinely liked it more than I thought I would , did anyone one else think it was good too ? 🤍

BL Challenge Day 10: A 2025 drama where you loved all the characters

"All the characters" tells me that my answer should be either ensemble cast or with lots of supporting roles, rather than a drama which is tightly focused on two protagonists. And if I loved all of them, with no red or black flags, or evil stepmothers, this guides me towards comfort fluff - which I love, so that's fine with me.

So what's my favourite big-cast, cutie-filled comfort fluff of 2025? Tough choice, as it's been a good year for BLs in general and loveable cuties in particular.

But I'll narrow it down to "Boys In Love" (Ashton & Chogun were also my answer to yesterday's question) and "Your Sky" (including the spin-off "Your Sky Of Us").

+++

As with past challenges, this BL Challenge is a lot of fun, more than expected.
Big thanks to @Dora and @Art Girl for making it happen!

(re "School Trip") Yes, I also love this about this series - even though (or because) it bears zero resemblance to the reality of my own school years.

Same for me. I watched "Monster Next Door" when it came out last year, so I couldn't count Big & Park for yesterday's question, but they're one of my favourite current pairings. The GIF you posted really captures their sweet, playful, comfortable chemistry.
