im rewatching Thamepo because well nostalgia but now that Im rewatching I'm questioning the phone number part

if Thame gave Po his number, he could have just sent a message and then clarify it's him and not say "I gave you my number but forgot to ask for yours"  like phones work both ways same thing with episode 3 he forgot to save his contact-
