Hello. I have some question. I know this forum is about bl but I want to generally ask some question:
How do people know they are transgender
How do people know they are gay
I want some general information or experience to know more. I am unsure of the personal experiences or information.
Technically I can't answer any of these two questions as I'm bi, but I can at least attempt to answer the second one. On the first one I'm not gonna say anything. People know they are gay if they have exclusive same sex attraction. If a man likes only men, if a woman likes only women. This means they are gay and lesbian respectively.
If you like both men and women, you're bi (like me). I can speak about this more, but I knew I was bi since 2008 or so? I was 14. People discover their sexuality at earlier ages than that but at that moment I found out I like women too. I haven't done much with this realization until now, but maybe in my 30s I'll date or something.
Attraction to one sex or the other is innate and immutable. So sexual orientation cannot be changed. If someone's gay, they're gay their whole life. Same for being bi or straight. Is there a reason for asking these questions? Or you just want to know more about sexual orientation?
I'd say people know they are gay / bi, the same way someone knows they're straight. It's an automatic and natural response. Some people might take longer to figure out their sexual orientation though, due to pressure from society to conform to heterosexuality. But deep down, they do know who they are.
Hope this helps.
