Tiffany:
Can someone recommend me some bl movies you have enjoyed ?
I'll interprete this as feature-length movies initially released as such (especially theatrical releases), i.e. I'll exclude shorts, specials and "movie version" re-releases of series (as is common with KBLs).
I'll also exclude movies that are niche interest because they're very hardcore. (I'm thinking here of "Dangerous Drugs of Sex", "Playboy and the Gang of Cherry" and "Grand Guignol". I liked these in their own way, but for goodness sake, don't watch these unless you specifically know what you're in for.)
I see that you've already watched "10Dance", "Marry My Dead Body" (more gay-themed police action comedy than BL), "Beautiful Man: Eternal" (third part of the superb trilogy), both halves of "Seven Days", "Cornered Mouse" (which was alright but I didn't like it as much as most others), "Red Envelope" (loved it!) and a few others, so I don't need to comment on these (although I've commented a bit anyways for the benefit of others who may be interested).
So, here goes:
"Balloon's Landing" (Netflix): I wasn't really expecting much, but gosh, it was really good: beautiful cinematography, beautiful music, good acting, engaging (albeit very confusing) story about the complex relationship (love story) between the protagonists. There seems to be some debate about whether it's bromance or BL, particularly as there are no NC scenes (other than shirtless) and not even a consummated kiss - but to me, it's definitely BL with powerful feelings. As I said, it's confusing, especially as things are revealed and unfolded in the second half, so I had to watch a second time in order to fit all the pieces together.
"Does The Flower Bloom?" (Gaga): Serious, engaging and generally good. More like a stage play (with dialogue, psychology) than the usual BL. Nice cinematography, especially the beautiful house. Not for everyone (age difference 19 vs. 37, not much BL-type chemistry, ambiguous/unsatisfying ending which isn't the usual HEA), but I really liked it. (I'm guessing that the low average MDL rating probably reflects punishment ratings for the big age difference and maybe also the ending.)
"Formula 17" (Youtube - available in high-quality UHD): Already mentioned above by Art Girl. Gay comedy rather than BL in usual sense, but quite entertaining and sweet, much better than expected.
"My Bromance" (Gaga): Of special interest because it stars a very young Fluke Natouch (in 2014). I thought it was quite good, but be warned: While the first half is super sweet, the second half is sad and very heavy. (Note: The sequel is awful.) (Disclaimer: I'm very biased about anything involving Fluke Natouch.)
"Cherry Magic: The Movie": If you liked the series, this is the sequel.
I should also mention "How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies" (Netflix), which is not BL but stars Billkin. It's excellent.
P.S. Answering posts like this is enjoyable for me because it's an opportunity for me to go back through my watched list and remember these past titles.
