General rant. Don't mind me, lol

There is nothing wrong with preferring romance focused dramas. I am the same with BLs. If a BL lacks romance and is more conflict focused, there being no good balance between both, I find it being a chore to complete that series. I especially hate when a series has very little romance and they chose to throw in a NC scene in the finale to make up for all the previous dry episodes. To me this cheapens the romantic aspect of the plot.

aahh guys I have woken up at 6 am this morning and haven't watched anything all day long

for shame, for shame

but at the same time, I *know* I gotta complete those 2 movies and do some other things

like I started 5 series this month and finished only 2

I got 50 items in my currently watching and no place to put them down

Interesting 3 stories - but same story from the perspective of 3 different relationships, BL, GL and Het.

as you should!! i don't think it's silly to want less "real-life" elements in your dramas. real life is hard!! and stressful!! i think it's highly normal to want to take breaks from reality and stressful topics

It's soooo hard sometimes! I love the feeling when night comes and I can escape in a world of romance after a difficult day. Or just a really busy day rushing around.

even though i've been on this site for a little while now, i still get jump scared sometimes by how judgemental and mean people can be in many comment sections. i prefer to stay here in the safe bl bubble <333

Meee too! I figured out why I feel the need to read the drama page comments - curiosity! And I certainly do learn from knowledgeable members about the dramas I watch, but it comes at a price.

I've started on "My Sweetheart Jom"

I'm glad you like it! I tried to watch it when it was airing but only got a few eps in. I'm not very keen on rural settings, but there are some exceptions. Maybe I'm getting pickier as time goes on, haha.

Totally agree!

This is funny - my comment on that drama page is now turning into a debate about Chinese propaganda and wind and solar projects. If that doesn't tell me about the focus of the drama then what does...??? Where's the romance in that?? 🤣😂😅

For BLACK FLAG fans!!  I haven't watched it but I thought some of u guys might want to 😆

Me and Thee - finale

I do not think there are any obvious major flaws with this series.

The style was just not for me.

7/10

Motivated by my newfound love of Poom Nuttapart, I've started on "My Sweetheart Jom". Although it's a bit more comedy than I expected, so far I really like it. In addition to the cuties, I tend to enjoy these BLs with village/rural settings.

It was a little long and meandering story-wise but I liked it overall. Just know you have to wait quite a bit for the romance.

That's fine with me. I tend to like slow burns. (Actually, I tend to like pretty much anything where cutie-patooties are involved.)

Heated Rivalry

So I started watching it a few weeks ago and the first episode didn't reach the expectations I had because of the hype that the show received. And yesterday I watched all the episodes and I was so into it I couldn't stop. I liked the Shane Ilya story but I found episode 3 amazing with the story of Scott and Christopher. The second half of the show was really good.
It made me want to read all the books and maybe I will.

So one of the side challenges in the PTW challenge (and maybe a category in the BL challenge) was to watch something starting with the same letter as your username. I watched:

DNA Says Love You (2022)

I don’t know why this drama has such a low rating on MDL. I thought it was fabulous! Quite a few others also discussed how this is a hidden gem. It does have a story twist that makes it a bit different from your typical BL, but overall it’s just a really sweet and moving coming of age drama about accepting yourself and embracing your own feelings and experiences. I cried a lot, but not because it was sad. I just get really emotional sometimes about self-acceptance and even just coming out. I know how hard these things can be.
Anyway the actors were excellent, the story was engaging, the character journeys were relatable (to queers) and really to everyone who struggles to accept themselves, and the ending was lovely and sweet. I cannot recommend this drama enough if you like well-done coming of age stories. Also the OST is great.

this is also a pretty short watch, with 12 twenty-minute episodes. I watched it on Viki. I know some people have complained about Viki not having many BLs but I have watched all the older Taiwanese ones here. FYI this is a taiwanese drama. I can see why people feel that Taiwanese BLs really set the standard for quality BLs before other countries.

glad you enjoyed it!

i'm currently watching ABO Desire (still on ep 3) and i'm a bit confused. hua yong and sheng have been together for 6 months before meeting again when hua you became shen's secretary (why do they have almost the same names, sheng and shen, it confused me at first lol). but why does it seem that hua yong doesn't know sheng's preference, like on sweet foods, breakfast, etc.

i think you misunderstood few things

hua yong and sheng  werent together for 6 months before meeting again, which scene showed that?

sheng is the ml of the first couple, shen is the ml of the second couple

its not that Hua Yong doesnt know Sheng's preferences about food, he is doing that on purpose 😂 i  dont want to say anything that might end up being a spoiler to you lol

if you confused about things related to omegaverse check this quick guide :
