huwei is amazing. he's both athletic and intelligent

He sure is: Definitely the most remarkable of the contestants (not least for how he mastered snowboarding within minutes).

Which reminds me: I need to get caught up on eps. 8 and 9 before eps. 10-12 come out tomorrow.

Interminable

rather than wait to hear what others think, here is a brief (ok, not brief) review of what I thought..

first, I love BillyBabe. I thought they were great in The Sign and in this. I think their social media stuff is cute and I am proud of them for both coming out publicly as gay and as a couple In recent weeks. They have also shown range as actors and Babe did a good job with the traditional Thai dancing. Their NC scenes are amazing; i really felt  their emotions through the screen.

second, I like multiple timeline stories, and historical dramas. Both those aspects of the show were interesting.

but…the first 4 or 5 episodes I was bored. They mostly took place in the second timeline, with little interaction between Billy (Khun Yai) and Babe (Kaewta.) I was confused about the situation, and needed at least a little more info from the first timeline to understand. I still feel like we never got a good explanation for why Khun Yai’s ghost was trapped in the house vs. being reborn. Then the show shifted almost completely to the first timeline for several episodes. That timeline was exciting and i really enjoyed that part of the story. The inclusion of a treason storyline was unnecessary, though, imo. once that brother was arrested it was clear Sophee was going to be responsible for everyone’s downfall.by the last few episodes the show finally struck the right balance between the different timelines and switching back and forth.

while the story was moving at times, we knew all along who would have to die young in order to be reborn in the next timeline, because the timelines were too close together for anything else.so while I was sad about it, I also expected it and did not find it devastating, as it was meant to be.

i like the idea of a love that survives across time, and i was satisfied with the ending.

the plot did have some holes, though, which distracted and annoyed me.it was a little too convenient for the professor to show up and provide a body for Khun Yai. That was never explained. Why would Sophee kill someone she thought was Khun Yai, even if she was hysterical? Why did no one continue to look for Ruedee until they found her body? Why did Kan vow to make amends in the next life but we never saw him again? Why wasn’t Khun Yai’s father more upset when all his children were arrested or dead?

I don’t know if it was the slow beginning or my story questions, but I was just never fully invested in this show. The second half was much better than the first, but maybe it just lost me too early and I couldn’t fully return to the world of the story.

In the end, I’m still glad I watched it. BillyBabe Sold their roles well. The romance was beautiful and believable. The NC scenes were some of the best I’ve ever seen. (Very spicy.) we almost got a vers/switch couple. Woo hoo!but the story just didn’t quite do it for me overall. Also, I hate screaming women. im Looking at you, Sophee.

7.5

Thanks. I've not watched it yet, and the MDL reviews are exceptionally divided, so I'm reading your remarks with interest.

Ditto also on Billy & Babe's coming out (even if it was hardly a surprise).

This popped up. Almost no info though. Trailer for The Long Relationship

One last post and question before I leave for good:

Do you guys know of places to watch Vietnamese BLs? I know of Gagaoolala but that's about it.

This is my currently watching (1st photo) and completed (2nd photo) for media from other Asian countries.

As you can see, there isn't much going on. It just occurred to me to go to World of BL website for Vietnam ones. Any other places? From there go to Youtube? hmm

Thanks for your help!! Any recommendations for Vietnamese and other non-MDL countries welcome!

He's a really talented person and he seems kind just maybe a bit reserved we will see if he opens up bit by bit.

Him snowboarding like that, that fast was really impressive. I wanted to watch just one episode by day to have at least one episode to watch until the end but it's hard to resist the urge to watch everything. I'm curious.

not sure if there are in kisskissh? (did i get it right? lol)

The boyfriend s2 episode 4

It's nice to see Kazuyuki open up a little by little. It must be hard to go on this show after a 15 year relationship. I'm glad Bomi talked to him and encouraged him. He seems really kind.

I want to see more of the new contestant, Ryuki. It was funny to see Huwei flustered, and Bomi was cute being a little bit jealous. If Huwei and Bomi work together, I think it's going to be different from the first time.

I feel a bit bad for Jobu. I want everyone to be happy, but I know it's not possible. I don't know what to think about William.

The next episode is the first date I can't wait.

Thee and Thee What did I just watch ?!😆 It was a silly short vertical drama (under 15 minutes I think) but I liked it. Probably because it was Khun Thee and Peach or Pondphuwin.

And cute Leng!

I'm really looking forward to Duang With You & My Romance Scammer soon. It's been an upsetting weekend irl (current events) so I'm  ready for a lighthearted fun series. Hoping it'll be two fun dramas!

FEBRUARY BLs I've got my eye on:

2/9 - MuTeLuv: Love Me if You Swear  (It's Surf & Java! but supernatural, so I'll have to see)

2/9 - Yesterday  (Long awaited FortPeat series!)

2/13 - Love Punch! (JBL movie in cinemas. I see cuties in the forecast!)

2/? - Venus's Groom  (Prob Feb...guess we'll find out)

Not so many compared with the last few months, but maybe others have new BL dramas coming I didn't mention above.

March is really low on new titles, at least atm!

ETA:  I saw this on IG. Does anyone know more? I couldn't find an MDL page...of course.

ETA x 2:  This reality series starts tomorrow but it's been lowkey about it. From Star Hunter

Heated Rivalry

So I started watching it a few weeks ago and the first episode didn't reach the expectations I had because of the hype that the show received. And yesterday I watched all the episodes and I was so into it I couldn't stop. I liked the Shane Ilya story but I found episode 3 amazing with the story of Scott and Christopher. The second half of the show was really good.
It made me want to read all the books and maybe I will.

i was so into Heated Rivalry that I have now purchased and read all the books in the series. I was able to buy them through my Kindle app and i love them all. It starts with Game Changer which gives a really good understanding of Kip and Scott's story. Shane and Ilya get two whole books - Heated Rivalry and The Long Game

omg, I so glad u posted just now. I was wondering where everybody went and thought maybe the thread was broken, lol. 😂
