I'm so happy for Boom to get the rising star award!

It would seem that in recent times ships are not lasting as long as they used to. Not that I am saying it is a bad or good thing, just an observation 🤔

Along those same lines I've been thinking for some time how hard it must be to be a BL actor irl. Add to that working at maintaining a couple relationship (work-wise for most, more than that for some) and the pressure must be high.

There are likely so many things bts things that I, as a viewer, couldn't and wouldn't know anything about.

Like what if a BL actor meets someone they really like and that person isn't comfortable with their line of work. Or they work for a shady or unfair company, and we know that happens. Or the actor's family gives them a hard time for taking gay roles.

Or what they go through to deal with stalkers, anti-fans, or crazy fans.  I've noticed more and more announcements and statements on insta by the company or the actor telling fans/others to stop their bad behavior or else.

What if they don't want to get intimate with another actor but it's a job requirement. Imagine kissing someone you wouldn't want to be touching. Ew! I wonder if that happens very often? Maybe less for Thai BLs since they mostly get paired off and a comfort level is acheived, I think. ??

Of course falling for your kidnapper is a bit ridiculous

Less ridiculous than one might think: It's the "Stockholm Syndrome" (or more familiar to Americans above a certain age, the "Patty Hearst Syndrome").

I've not yet watched "Kidnap" but plan to. (@Dora: The fact that you loved it is a good predictor of my own reaction.)

With "Love Upon A Time" now finished production and the official trailer coming on Friday, I'm hoping that we get an imminent start date. Many people assume that Mandee never airs two series simultaneously, and the final episode of "Duang" isn't until April 18 - but with Domundi and Mandee getting so much bigger, it certainly seems reasonable for them to start airing simultaneous series.

I think it's a good thing. I am not a fan of imagined ships.

I think they narrow the choice for possible projects. If we already know who is going to end up together, certain stories just can't be made.

And it narrows actors' chances to evolve professionally.

And it makes fans feel encouraged to believe their fantasies are real.

I hope it will become more common in the future that Thai BL actors change partners.

"Stockholm Syndrome" is possibly just the result of  men's bruised egos and may not exist in the form the general public thinks. https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/stockholm-syndrome-meaning-bank-robbery-b2399531.html

Luckily "Kidnap" is not really a story about a kidnappee having Stockholm Syndrome.

More about devotion and sacrifice, I think. And family. I loved it.

(Is "kidnappee" a word? Like employer and employee?)

Interesting article, thank you. I have to admit that I'm far more familiar with the Patty Hearst case and until reading this article knew nothing specific about the original Stockholm (Kristin Enmark) case.

GMMTV actor support for  Samruay

i’m not really into the mascots though so this is more my response

Thanks glad to know that the person inside Samruay won't loose his job. Maybe he will be even more active for a while because the fans would want to see him.

Just finished both My Bias Is Showing?! and The Story of Bi Hyeong: Enchanted Master of the Goblin. Anyone else? And what is their thoughts?

I very much enjoyed them both, despite some weaknesses.

The story in "My Bias" turned out to be considerably more substantive than I expected from the first episodes. Things didn't quite make sense until the revelation at the end of ep. 7, and from that point on the story become more serious and substantive, yet without feeling too heavy. That being said, I didn't really feel the chemistry, and the second couple was underdeveloped.

"Bi Hyeong" was a cute, fun and enjoyable watch, even though the story was somewhat of a confusing mess. (While non-Koreans don't have the background knowledge of Korean folklore, goblins, nine-tailed foxes, etc., I think this is only part of it.) Lee Cha Min is a cutie-patootie!

I watched My Bias Is Showing?! and liked it. I may be slightly biased though as I love the famous/nonfamous couple trope ^^
