BL Drama Lovers Club

With "Countdown to Yes" and "Cosmetic Playlover S2" now finished airing, I have a craving for more JBL, so I've watched the first two episodes of "Contrast" and am now ready for the next two on Friday. All three are on Gagaoolala.

So far, "Contrast" seems moderately promising, but it's too soon to judge.

In the case of both "Countdown to Yes" and "Cosmetic Playlover S2", I enjoyed the series and very much looked forward to each week's new episode - but more for the protagonists and relationship/feelings between them than the respective stories. "Countdown" is extremely slow - which is fine for me, but I think others might be bored to tears - and "Cosmetic" is too much about work and cosmetics. Offsetting this, both feature cutie-patooties who gave me special tingly love feelings.

In addition, there's a fourth JBL I'm watching: "My Stepbrother Is My Favorite Author!? " - see my post on previous page. One episode to go. It's a short series, and while hardly a masterpiece, it's quite cute.

Thanks for your take on these titles! I haven't gotten to any of them yet. *sigh*...but I was waiting for some of them to finish first.

 I checked out the first ep of Flavor of Us on YT  and the only subs are auto-generated, so not good! I have it on hold for now. If they don't add subs I'll  pass on this one. Kinda too bad cuz one of the MLs reminds me a little of Jooyeon of Xdinary Heroes, lol. 😍

I was checking out BL news on IG this morning and see a number of new Chinese BL titles in the works!! Plus a Thai remake of a 2017 CBL, Beloved Enemy, which doesn't rate too well on MDL.

There isn't anything to share yet but I've noted the titles on my offline list and will watch for future info.

Love For Love's Sake - sweet message.  I enjoyed it.

Please, Stop - step siblings. One likes the other. Curious where it will go.

Never Forget Your Enemy - guy wakes up in the hospital after an accident and discovers he has lost 10 years worth his memories and is told his partner is someone he hates. Interesting premise. 2 episodes are out.

Never Fair - very basic short BL.

Yesterday - saw 1 episode and not sure if I want to watch more. I need to know of if the red flag gets what he deserves or not. Can't be glossing over that stuff.

Need some good drama recommendations if possible. 

Just a quick question - 

Does fanfic cover all kinds of genres and r they usually racey or both tame and racey?  Here's the context question I'm answering:

"If you could have a fanfic-style romance with one actor, who would it be?"

Google wasn't much help.

So I'm wondering how to take the question...

I've started khemjira. I've only watched the first 1½ episodes and I'm already considering dropping it. 

Khemjira is by far a favourite for BL watchers but hiding the master's identity in the first episode was so not needed. 

I'm not invested in what will happen to anyone. Khem at least is sweet and caring and the pace is generally slow slow that I was doing research for a book that I will be writing in the new future.

 The pacing should be that I don't want to do anything else while watching it as I'm not engaged. The pacing is delicate as it should be fast enough to engage me but slow enough where I can understand everyone's role. It has a solid plot line as well

I guess maybe give it 2 eps to fully decide before dropping 

Something that i usually do is i watch with fast speed (doesn't necessarily mean i dislike the show)not fast enough to miss things but fast when there's no dialogue yet like 1.25 speed

😆😂🤣  Sorry, I'm laughing cuz I tried to watch for the (DMD cuties) MLs but I stopped after the first jump scare. I don't like horror. But I really HAD to see this drama after all the buzz... I watched the whole series and guess what?  I still didn't like it and won't watch another horror again. 💀🙀
