I've started EP 4 and ...I'm sooo confused. What is Akira doing with his tutor? Why can he talk to the tutor about Kanata but Kanata can't know about the tutor? Why did the tutor apologize to Akira? Are they in a relationship? Does Akira like both guys? And there's another guy that comes up in Aikra's memories. An ex? 🤷🏻♀️
Aren't the MLs in high school? Or am I confused about that too? 🤔

Honestly I felt the same way. I think they were going for a mysterious vibe or something. It probably flows better when binging vs one eps weekly but I does become very clear with the appropriately placed flashbacks and future conversations. Let me know when you get to next confusing (at least for me) scene because I'm still like... what?

I almost felt the same way, but the turning point for me was Akira had no feeling of love for him at all. I see it as both of them were using each other with the tutor being in love with Akira's brother and using Akira as a replacement, while Akira (who was the one to initiate the sexual relationship) was using the tutor to feel normal and accepted for his sexuality. And while I do think they care about each other, example of when the tutor told the brother off for not being a good brother and Akira feeling guilty for falling in love, I just get the impression they both went into their 'benefits' situation completely aware.

Hmm, I don't think it was explicitly said, but I'm guessing that Kanda (as the older brother's friend) is only 2-4 years older than Akira (?). Yes, it's problematic for me, not so much because of the age difference but because of the abuse of a position of trust (just as with teachers, supervisors, priests, etc.) - but I'm not sure that "adult" is the right word.
On the other hand, these issues do exist in the real world, and there are many gay people (myself included) who think with hindsight that having had a benevolent and intimate gay mentor in our youth (whether with benefits or without) might've been helpful. I can't begin to explain how difficult my teens were, especially in the era in which I grew up. I didn't even start dating until I was in my early 20s, and even that was a mess. Would it have been better for me if I had had a Kanda? I don't know. Maybe.

I'm going with my best friend. I already went with her in 2022 in South Korea, and in 2024 in Japan. (But I will try South Korea alone in a few years I think I would be feel more comfortable travelling alone in South Korea than in my own country 😆)

I second that.
Contrast : I agree that the relationship between Kanda and Akira was problematic. Like Mr. P said, for me it was more about the abuse of power/position. But I’m okay with watching it in TV shows because these things happen in real life. I also like when TV shows show us the consequences of wrongdoing (even if that doesn’t always happen in real life).
I would have liked them to show Akira’s brother learning the truth about the relationship between his friend and his brother, but to do that they would have needed more episodes or longer episodes. They could have shown the consequences of what they did, even without involving the parents or the police, but at least through Akira’s brother, who is the link between Akira and Kanda.
ETA : It’s so interesting to read everyone’s opinions, it makes me think about and realize things I hadn’t before.
