I really wanted to start The Prosecutor's Proposal but it refused to load on iQIYI.

I tested it, and it's working fine for me. If you're still having the problem, it's also on Gaga.

Good to know. I'll go there.

ElementalStar:
I love LUAT. Would have rated ot higher if I had binged it. So I can't wait for a rewatch of this.

Glad to know I think I can watch all episodes within 3 days ! I'm going to rewatch the first two episodes first.

Indie Art Girl:
Also I'M HOMEEE!!! YIPPEE! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜บ

Finally, you're home! ๐Ÿ˜„

You left the dogs, and now my sister's demon cat is leaving in a few hours. She's taking me out to lunch to thank me. ๐Ÿ˜

As for Ticket to Heaven, it looks really good! I want to binge-watch it, but I won't have enough time this weekend. So it'll have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. I'll try to be careful and avoid spoilers.

Italophilia:
Burnout Syndrome

I loved Dew in this one !

ElementalStar:

I watched it a few months ago (the uncut version... illegally ๐Ÿ˜…). The TutorYim chemistry was ๐Ÿ”ฅ. It definitely has its flaws (like Mr. P said, it was a mess ๐Ÿ˜†), but overall, I enjoyed it.

After the promising first episode of "Don't Be Too Emotional" (iQiyi), I'm especially looking forward to today's ep. 2!

Me too! ๐Ÿ˜Š I'm also looking forward to Winter Sun but I don't think you've started it yet. I also have A Dog and a Plane to watch today but I'll probably wait until tomorrow for that one.

Nope, I still need to start on "Winter Sun", not to mention "Dog and a Plane", "Ticket to Heaven", and several other high priorities. I thought I'd have more time with some of my currently watching series wrapping up this week, but I'm still overloaded.

There are two new starts today that I wish I had time for: "The Servant Prince" (JBL on Gaga) starring Seto Toshiki (from "End of the World with You"), and "Bittersweet Love" (CBL on Viki). I'll be interested in hearing initial feedback from any others who watch these.

There's a third new start I'm also interested in: "Futsu no Renai" ("Ordinary Love") starring two very familiar lead actors: Nagano Ryota (from "Punks Triangle") and Furukawa Yuki (from "Kamisama no Ekohiiki") ... but I don't see it yet on any international streaming platform, so I'll wait and see if Gaga picks it up, or otherwise I'll get it from a fansubber.

Tiffany:
I didn't know The Boy and I Who Will Break Up in 100 Days finished airing yesterday

i didnt know that as well, thanks for mentioning. i haven't even started fake fact lips and now i need to watch this as well (i'm not complaining, sort of lol. too many shows, too little time)

Tiffany:
The whole episode was filmed like a documentary
Tiffany:
For the first five episodes, I was leaning toward an 8/10. Then came the final episode, which I thought was excellent, and it convinced me to raise my rating to 8.5/10.

thanks for this!

Indie Art Girl:
The second was when Gemini called him father. I was confused and I thought he meant his real father, until I realized the name "Father" is another name for a priest. Right?

catholics call the priests and the pope father, as for them, it refers to father of the soul

That's correct. There's a distinction in Thai, though.

i'm not sure if i heard and remembered it correctly, i think they're calling the priest kun po or in another translation mr. father (which is also used when a friend is referring to a friend's father)

ElementalStar:
The last episode it tomorrow I believe and half of us are hoping for a happy ending, but even if the worst happens, I'm still going to be grateful to have watched it.

'Deep In' is shaping up to be quite an exciting drama! I can see why dramas need intimacy coordinators.

Episode posted. Now watching. I like this series!

+++

Today's ep. 12 of "Love Class 3" (Viki) marked an improvement in the story logic as certain things were revealed. Certain things are making more sense now, and there was a new twist that indicates where things are heading. It also had a rather good NC scene, hubba hubba. Not great drama, but the four idol-actors are quite slobberable, and it's not much of a time investment.

The July BL calendar is getting ever more insanely busy.

The official trailer for "Make It Right 2026" just posted:

Start date: July 17 !

It seems it'll be on Viu, which is usable via VPN if the English subtitles are there - but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for iQiyi. Sฤdhu!

I know there are lot of mixed feelings about the messy 2016 original, but I loved it. For me, it's a cutie-packed diamond in the rough, plus it's fun to see the various familiar BL actors in their youthful days.

My notes says Makr It Right is a worse Love Sick. Looks like I dropped the second season all together. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ But I am looking forward to this. I hope I will like a newer version. What I like about remakes is the potential to see what didn't work and improve upon it.

Just watched: Made on the Rooftop. Gave it a 9 out of 10. It's a gay movie compared to a BL one. It tackles some heavy topics in a light way. Also, the actor who played in The Legend of Kitchen Soldier is in it. Not Park Ji Hoon though. Someone else. :) This is the main reason I watched it, beside the fact it was recommended to me in a Youtube video of gay movies recs.

Hi everyone!

I was away the whole day with my girls (aka my knitting club friends) and just came back home. What's better than being Friday evening? Already totally excited about all the airing series I'll watch tonight!

On another note, why are there so many forum pages for less than 24h, you guys were pretty chatty!

iwantdrama:
I have a real soft spot in my heart for Unintentional Love Story because it was the first BL i ever watched. i had been watching K-dramas already and I am not sure what made me watch the first episode but I loved it. I think the show would have been so much better if the actors didn't look so uncomfortable in the kissing scenes.

Oh that's for sure a nice series to start with BL! Did you watch The Time of Fever, the spinoff? I really enjoyed Hoe Tai and Dong Hui's story (in general I have a soft spot for the second couple).

I agree the kissing scenes were sometimes pretty weird ;-)

iwantdrama:
But now I love BL and I can't believe there was a time when I didn't know about it as a genre

Same here, I started less than 2 years ago, and I still find it incredible all the great series I missed! Trying to catch up but with the amount of airing series right now, it's almost impossible.

Tiffany:
I didn't know The Boy and I Who Will Break Up in 100 Days finished airing yesterday so I'm binge watching it right now. The first episode was so original ! The whole episode was filmed like a documentary. At first it felt weird but I slowly got used to it and ended up getting interested in the documentary itself not just the drama.

Oh that's good to know, I wasn't sure about this one! It's on my watch list but I keep delaying it, so now I'll try and watch it this weekend.

ElementalStar:
I'm on the opposite on this. In my drama update notes I wrote: Thank goodness this was short or I might have seriously considered dropping it. There was some moments I thought were really nice but overall it was just uninteresting.

Oh sh*t, now I'm unsure again. Let's see if I have a bit of time this weekend.

ElementalStar:
What I like about remakes is the potential to see what didn't work and improve upon it.

While I generally tend to be dismissive of remakes of "ironic originals that don't need remaking", in the case of some of these early BLs there is definitely room for improvement and refinement - so yes: there's definitely potential to take the good while improving on what wasn't so good. (I never watched the original "Love Sick", but most seem to say that "Love Sick 2024" was an improvement. I loved it!)

On the other hand, this remake is Cheewin / Copy A, so it'll probably be his usual cute but chaotic style, sprinkled with naughtiness and cringe comedy. Fingers crossed. The trailer looks promising!

Probably for the best since the episodes are short and fast paced. It would be more fun to binge.
