Knot ep 2: The issue from episode one is still present and is upsetting enough to ruin an otherwise good drama for me. But before we get into that...
Positives: I do like the plot. It has that soulmate/destined, bonding element I love in my omegaverse. My favorite parts have been in episode 1 with the obsession over Phat's pheromones and the almost instant bit. Episode 2: the backlash of separation triggering a heat! When Phat dismisses their first time as no big deal Nathan releases angry phenomenons that make Phat cry. For those who don't know, when an alpha releases an angry phenomenon toward their Omega, it stresses the omega out, which can lead to the omega giving in to stop the feeling (shitty alpha), unless the alpha is emotionally invested, then seeing their omega cry and be in distress will in turn make them stress and sooth the omega (good alpha). This is like a fanfic come to life for me so I got so excited! Another thing that really made me happy was the instead 'on guard' stance Nathan took when his brother invaded his omega's space. Can't wait to see more of that. I also like the overbearing alpha trying to protect what is his but ends up making the omega feel trapped and controlled, but only if they work this out later and start to repect each other's feelings. We will see if this stays a positive.
Negatives: right off the bat, we still have not gotten an explanation on why everyone seems to know about the omegaverse expect Phat. Even his brother was explaining about Enigma. What's worse is Phat doesn't even react the way a normal person would react to finding out about MPreg so they don't even seem to commit to the bit they've chosen. I really don't know why they went this route but it really cuts the enjoyment in half for me. Also, I was expecting a heavy sex scene this episode and was wildly disappointed. They literally set that up, but no follow through? I know most of us had an expectation for this drama in that department but so far I'm not satisfied. π Also, and I blame this on the amazing dramas that have been airing, but the OST is mediocre. This is not something I would normally notice, but Deep In, Payback, and Don't Be Too Emotional are just so stand out that it's noticeable when others don't make the cut. π€
