However the scene from where Phatsa started having his symptoms from being separate from Nakhun all the way to the NC scene made me just want to look every where else than the screen! How on earth did both of the scenes make it from editing to being given an ok to the final show, bc they were very cringe and at time awful to watch.

I fully agree. I had no fun watching it, and don't expect much for the remaining 10 (TEN!!!!!!) episodes... It's on hold for now, it was even quicker than Crazy Love Moo Moo.

By the way, talking about CLMM, do you still watch it?

Yeah still watching (suffering it trough :D ). I have watched the latest ep half way trough, nothing still not impressed. However at this point I might as well finish the show, writing the final review will at least give me a place to went out. πŸ˜…

Just got done watching Journey With You! 10 out of 10. I'm so glad for them, they're so good together.

r is it because opinions are polarized, with enough voting viewers who are genuinely enjoying the respective series?

I didn't rate it, but I'm enjoying Knot, even though it's my first BL with them. It has its flaws, but I'm happy to see another Omegaverse BL, and I think it has the potential to get better and better.

Thanks! I should add that I also find differing feedback in this group interesting, not just on MDL.

As to "Knot", I'm not so keen on the Omegaverse, but I am keen on Oat Pasakorn, so I'll probably like it well enough. (I'm so easily influenced by cutie-patooties. Just put Fluke Natouch or Namping into anything and I'm sold!)

if you're into red flags, you should watch my stubborn, it's my first boat-oat series (havent checked yet if they have previously teamed up prior to that)

jazme:

you should watch my stubborn

Yes, I already did - and I quite enjoyed it. Although the first episode left my head spinning (also for the overwhelming number of characters dumped on us), it was a cute and engaging series with a fun vibe, and I loved the catchy "earworm" OST.

"My Stubborn" was also my introduction to Boat/Oat - and gosh, that opening scene was indeed quite an intimate introduction, hubba hubba!

Watched ep 6 of Cherry Blossoms After Winter. It wasn't half bad... I might have to reconsider my score for this one. It's an 8+ for sure. I think it's kinda boring though, so maybe it'll be either an 8 or 8.5.

You're a warrior, you have all my respect! I lost it after 10 min of ep5 and dropped it forever. No way I'm coming back. For Knot, I'm not that far, but it's only ep2!

honestly, i think mid way through ep 5 is when clmm actually got better. but maybe that's just me.

CLMM is not for me, I don't like the general ton, don't find it funny, hate the characters and dislike the story. I only had fun watching Earth portraying Kluayhom, but it didn't last. I really like BossNoeul but found CLMM super boring. I'd rather watch The Boy Next World again than continue with CLMM ;-)

I'm watching Blue Lips, lol.

just added this to my ptw, plus 2 other more lol. see why my ptw keeps on getting longer? lol

there are more BL airing than we can watch in a 24h day, it's a lost battle. I'm accepting my defeat by adding as many series as I can find without even having a second thought. It works perfectly!

p43425:

Average MDL ratings:
"Crazy Love, Moo-Moo!" = 7.9
"Knot" = 8.1

I've not started either, but given the largely negative feedback I've been hearing, I find it interesting that the MDL ratings are so high.

Is this because of ballot-box stuffing by loyal Boss/Noeul and Boat/Oat fans, or is it because opinions are polarized, with enough voting viewers who are genuinely enjoying the respective series?

At some point I'll probably give both a try, mainly because of the beloved lead actors, but I'm in no rush, and in any case I'll wait until the final reviews after they've finished airing.

Average MDL ratings:

Fake Fact Lips = 8.2, 0.1 above Knot

Don't Be Too Emotional = 8.0, 0.1 above Crazy Love Moo Moo (gosh I can't get over this fact)

Blue Lips = 7.3, below Love Like a Bike (anyone remembers this "fantastic drama"?)

I could rant and give you more example for hours!

Lately I've given less relevance to MDL ratings, especially for airing shows. As you already mentioned it, BL shows and series from 5 years ago were rated lower than now (Bad Buddy = 8.3, Star and Sky: Star in My Mind = 7.5, Fish upon the Sky = 7.7), and the variations in ratings are so crazy that I can't objectively explain it.

I agree with you that the pairing and main leads playing in the series are for sure some part of the reason why the ratings are higher. It's been a while since The boy next World that fans were waiting for BossNoeul to lead another series. Same for Boat/Oat since My Stubborn. Anyway that doesn't make a great series unfortunately.

I may have to rework my no-watch rules, and decrease a bit the limit for series older than 2022. For recent series I now mostly rely on the feedbacks here, that helps a lot.

Actually, if you like red flags stories and hot NC scenes, My Stubborn is far from being bad! In general it's average, but there are so many more boring BL series out there!

I heard about this one, and I'm hesitating about whether to read the novel before or after watching the BL.

I'm curious I need to listen to this OST.

I enjoyed this one but it was pretty slow/boring at times.

Portugalia67:

Don't Be Too Emotional = 8.0

It's not low, but I was expecting both of them to be rated higher, considering how much we love (or loved) them in this club. It just goes to show that the members of this club don't necessarily reflect the opinions of all the users on MDL, which is totally normal.

What is your rule ?

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. It is kinda boring and slow sometimes.

Tiffany:
What is your rule ?

absolutely nothing below 7.5 for BL, and 8.0 for straight dramas

That's a good rule for recent releases.
