Mew in a new bl 😆

Okay this is a surprise, I don't know why, but I though he might have moved to other projects outside BL.

NOUR Ep 4

May contain spoilers!

Okay wow so a lot for one ep. The killer is truly lurking around the police station and I am scared who is going to be the next victim. The gf of the latest victim is so just giving me bad vibes, though while I think she is somehow related to what is happening I don't think she is the actual killer.

The romance really took of with this one for the both couples, and who knows maybe with the younger brother and his friend we might get a third pair. I think it was quite adorable after the doctor decided to stop being stupid, that he confessed by asking Chita to only cook lunches for him. I think the fewer might have made Chita bit braver than he usually is, bc he was so shy in the hospital. On the other hand the Doctor might have a bit of naughty streak to him, since he felt excited that someone might catch them. Anyway I would have wanted another proper kiss, but we got so much progresses with them, so I am not complaining.

Now about James and Ken. We really went 360 from valentines gifts and being cute, to Ken almost sending James away, almost having their first time in the car to James doing a full stop at the end. I have a question to those who watched the first eps more carefully than I, is it still so that James doesn't know about Ken being a nour? I interpreted the ending so, that what made him back down was that in some level he figured out Ken's abilities, but I could be wrong.

All and all this getting much better by each episode, wishing maybe next week another double ep week.

NOUR Ep 4

First of all thanks for the reminder

Laalaa17930228:

Now about James and Ken

They are by far the most complicated pair in Nour due to their differing abilities. James doesn't know that Ken is a Nour although it seems be may be catching due to his irregular heartbeat and his hands were cold even though they should be warm. I do think that Ken doesn't want James to know his secret as it is no secret that James think Nours are killers due to the evidence and it would fracture if not break their relationship. Also that is why he had James transferred to 'protect him' and to stop the progression of their relationship as we all know that he might not like James but James sure does like him. James' ability I'm not quite sure what it is except he can see colours and the colours he saw on Ken clearly spooked him and knows Ken is lying at worst or hiding something from him at best.

However the car scene would be classed as sexual assault at first due to the fact Ken pushed James off clearly showing he never wanted to kiss

Yeah the car scene all together was quite wild. The whole chase with the motorcycle and then undressing bf James forced himself inside the car. Considering the circumstances, I am happy they didn't go all the way. Hopefully once they do get their, we have much clearer consent from both parties.

That was me too.

One thing about not watching toxic dramas...I finish reading the thread pages quicker. Muhahaha

Tiffany:

I forgot they had the same screenwriter, but I’m not surprised.

p43425:

i didnt know this, thanks for the trivia =D

Tiffany:
Currently watching episode 2 of The Boy... : If Sara from another world is here, where is the Sara from this world ? Maybe they switched worlds, and Fuu in the other world is the one saying that they’re a couple instead of Sara, so it’s the opposite situation from the world we’re seeing. 🤔

interesting insight, i didnt thought of this =D

Yet another "season 2" of a JBL from last year, which I see as an especially healthy sign for the JBL industry: "When It Rains It Pours: Mellow Rain" (S2) starting Nov. 6 (not yet listed on MDL, international platform not yet known)

thanks for this mr p. looking forward to this =D

A few years ago, there was a lot of anticipation for "Red Peafowl", with the cast to include some familiar BL actors, notably Boun Noppanut. The project quietly died, and of course Boun moved to GMMTV.

It seems that it's now back to life. ASA Studio - the maker of "Mandate" and thus presumably serious - is doing a casting call under the name "Red Peacock", so presumably they're acquired the rights, and presumably it'll have a totally different cast than what was announced way back when.

Tiffany:

When I saw the titles 1000 Years Old and Eye Contact, I could remember the posters even though I couldn't remember the stories.

@Tiffany, I should mention one more thing in case it's not already clear: "1000 Years Old" is a quirky zany low-budget comedy, definitely not a serious vampire story. It's a cute and endearing trainwreck but also very PG (zero smooching or NC scenes). One needs to be in the right mood. (I suspect that these are also reasons for the harsh ratings, i.e. viewers who were expecting a serious vampire story, and viewers who expect a BL to have a certain amount of physical display.)

In contrast, "Eye Contact" - which I consider possibly the most fascinatingly bad BL trainwreck I've ever watched to the end - has some very non-PG (NC) scenes, hubba hubba.

It’s interesting ! I feel like your explanation really matches the posters, so I wasn’t surprised. Thank you for all the details ! 😊

i hope this pushes through

Does anyone have any recs? I've watched no dramas or Asian movies since more than a month ago. :(

In terms of new BLs over the past month, the stand-out seems to be "Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hill Dream" (Gaga, avg. MDL rating 8.5 plus many rave reviews), which I see in your PTW list. I haven't yet watched it, but it's from the same team which produced the masterpiece "Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island".

Of the tsunami of JBLs in August, my favourite is probably "Popular Serizawa Acts Weird around Me" (Gaga/Viki, avg. MDL rating 8.2, 4 of 11 eps. aired so far)

Thanks a lot! I'll start with the JBL. For the CBL I need to be in the proper mood lol

re "Winter Sun": Same. This is exactly the reason I've not yet watched it. I want to be in the right mood to be able to concentrate and fully appreciate it.

Another recommendation, if you want something with a bit more action but still a relatively easy (serious but not overly taxing) and quick watch: "Prosecutor's Proposal" (KBL on Gaga/iQiyi, avg. MDL 8.5, finished airing). Good combination of engaging police mystery and BL. It's from the producer of last year's excellent "Secret Relationships".
