Mr. Fanboy ep 2 :

I agree, very stellar second EP from the show. I think it's in one way very fascinating to watch the comparison how this and Payback describe entertainment industry companies. Payback's description was very gloomy (fitting the overall theme of the show) while I think Fanboy's description is bit more balanced. The truth probably being something in between, and certainly in real life there most likely are companies that offer a lot of support to actors, while others are predatory and just throw you at the deep end to see can you swim.

I think only question mark I had for this ep was, that while it seems that the company in Fanboy is generally supportive to their new talent, but putting freshly recruited actors in an actual show's workshop without perquisite acting classes felt odd. And they even had very in-depth discussion about the classes with Wan before the workshop. For me this felt like not giving Wan all the opportunities to succeed. If a company genuinely recruits ppl trough short audition performances, that does not make anyone immediately a ready-to-film actor.

Found out the sill plate and rim joist at the back of my house is rotted out. 😮‍💨 I'll have to buy some hydraulic jacks, cut out a piece of the kitchen floor and go under the house and jack up the back a couple of inches and cut the rot out and replace it. 😭 This is going to be a long process.

That sounds like serious work. We've been in this house for over 25 years with minimum maintenance. Now, it's all catching up to us: another paint job, new windows, new roof (which means new solar), rotted cast iron pipes, etc. But nothing that needs a hydraulic jack. All the best with that process, and I truly hope it goes smoothly.

I'm doing everything myself so that will cut cost, but I still have to wait to buy all the tools for this a little at a time and the total cost in tools is around $850 for just this small section too. But yeah, while I have the hydraulic javks I can also level the house properly and line the crawl space with a specialized tarp for moisture control, then insulate underneath the floor boards. It will all the worth it when it's done. The house was really old and neglected for so long.

Yours sounds like a pain too. Especially the new roof and solar. I will be installing solar to a free standing shed (once I get it) and learning how all that works. Maybe I can add solar to my roof once I see how to properly prevent leaks.

Just a few more days until I get to see the cuties from Your Summer, My Storm ! 🥰

Oh no 😭 That sounds like a lot of work ! Good luck with all that, I hope everything goes well and you don’t have too many bad surprises.

Oh I'm expecting so many nasty surprises still. 😂 Every time I repair one thing, another issue is unearth. If I don't laugh I will cry. 😭

If anyone hasn't been watching the side-story interviews for each episode of Don't Be Too Emotional, I gathered all the links here.

Just started the series “Lost To Light” and this series is hilarious and I cannot stop laughing. Idk why the rating is so low, but I am liking it alot so far. 😂🤣💖🥰😎

Currently Watching:

Weirdo-101 (episodes 3 & 4): I am enjoying this series a lot. Love Cheewa’s way of nerdy flirting. This series is making me laugh and go all ‘awwww’ at the same time.

Kiss or Kill (episodes. 5 & 6): Enjoying this series too. The story keeps me interested. Might not be for everyone. But for me it definitely works.

Mr. Fanboy (episode 2): Felt sorry for Wan in this episode, He is being thrown into the deep end without any training. Looking forward to the future episodes. So glad Auau-Save get to be the leads here. Hope this gets so successful and they shine. This is my first time seeing Ryujin-Patji act as well. Makes me eager for 20 Lists!

You Maniac: (episode 2): William-Est are slaying as usual. Est does nuanced sassy expressions so well! Two lonely guys masking their loneliness in different ways. Dr. Pun is my favorite character so far. So sad to see him hurt.

Summertime (episodes1-4): There is something about KBL that really doesn’t work for me. I just don’t click with them. It is like watching a well polished mannequin. Good to look at on the surface. But I just can’t connect with them emotionally. For now, I really don’t like Do Hyun’s creepy red flag behavior. Let’s see how things evolve.

Nour (episode 4): Still enjoying this despite its many flaws. But the thing that most bothers me is how unprofessional people within the series are. Flirting right next to a corpse being examined is a no-no in my book. But then I’ve had dentists IRL who chat about their dates, Saturday plans etc. as they were working in me, so I guess this isn’t that surprising 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your Sky- Hare Nochi Koi (episodes 1-6): As someone who hasn’t watched the original Thai series with Thomas-Kong, I have to say, I am enjoying this. Japan does ‘soft’ dramas best! I’m enjoying watching Sora 😍

Connecting to You (episodes 6-10): This has all the potential to be a great drama for me. But somehow it keeps meandering and missing the mark. It is still a nice, quick watch. But the last few episodes have been meandering plot-wise.

After Moving Seats, the Boy Behind Me has a Crush in Me (episodes 5): Asamiya in a vampire costume was cute! Also, there are things one should never tell a person with an already extremely low self-esteem. Calling them ‘like a mascot’ is one of them. I get what Asamiya was trying to do. But boy, you just hurt Mayama’s self esteem even more 🤦🏻‍♂️

Love Destiny (episodes 7, 8): I have nothing to say except that I have discovered the usefulness of the 1.5x and 2x speeds.

Popular Serizawa Acts Weird Around Me (episodes 3, 4): This is so cute. Where can I get a Serizawa?

Duty First, Kiss Later (episodes 5, 6): Watanabe Shu is such a master in facial expressions! Both Watanabe Shu and Saito Ryu act so well. I can feel their shyness, angst, heartache, pain, etc. as my own. Takoi’s female colleague and the restaurant owner are both such lovely characters 👏🏼 Best wingwoman/wingman ever. Love how perceptive Takoi’s female colleague is and how she always tries to nudge Takoi in the right direction. Best supporting character in a BL this year.

Your Summer, My Storm (episodes 8, 9): This is still so sweet! Our dear, sweet, innocent Natsuki is bringing out all my protective instincts. This is such a comforting drama to watch.

So it seems like JBLs continue to unequivocally hold my heart ❤️

Sorry for the rather lengthy post!

Sorry for the rather lengthy post!

I love these types of post! Happy other people are loving Weirdo 101 too! I understand your pain on Love Destiny too. I love the slow pace because I just enjoy watching Gaew so much but yeah, it's like watching snails race. 🤣🤣

Sorry for the rather lengthy post!

Not at all. I enjoyed reading your comments. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on the six titles I'm likewise watching and especially on other the seven titles in my hopelessly massive queue.

10GoodMemories:

Haha! I make extensive use of 1.5X and 2X anyways, even for reasonably good titles.

10GoodMemories:

There is something about KBL that really doesn’t work for me.

I haven't yet started "Summertime" and thus can't comment, but it seems to me that KBLs have - with some notable exceptions (including "Prosecutor's Proposal" from the makers of "Summertime) - gone downhill from the prime a few years back. Lots of forgettable verticals these days.

On the other hand, JBLs have been booming lately - certainly in quantity, and to some extent also quality.

Don’t Be Too Emotional ep10

So this show continues to surprise me. I don’t seem to be able to read where it’s going at all. Little Jane’s thinking throughout confused me a bit, but I loved the scenes in the bar and the car, and the facial expressions were great. Big Jane still makes me melt. But then…omg they brought in the truck of doom and my least favorite third-act trope: amnesia! I am so frustrated right now! I don’t mind watching Big Jane try to woo Little Jane again, but I don’t want to watch him and Dan fight over Little Jane anymore. Also I just feel like the characters have been through so much and now they have to start over?! Grrrr.

i just finished ep 6 and i feel you. i had just finished crying myself ugly, and now reading this, i want to give the writers a bop in the head lol. is the reason why they titled this like this, is because it will be an emotional ride? lol

It's Monday! And we have a lot of dramas ending this week. 🎉🎉

  1. Are the Sexy Buttocks Not Good? (7th)

  2. Be My Player Two (10th)

  3. Class Crush Crisis (11th)

  4. Connecting to You (11th)

  5. Don't Be Too Emotional (11th)

  6. My Summer of You (9th)

  7. Your Summer, My Storm (12th)

And also Mr. Kill (8th) for those who like a police procedure bromance.

I'm relieved because I have 4 new dramas dropping this week as well. The Missing Piece and Police in Love for the BL + a GL and a historical C-Drama.
