Thank you ! I often complain about Netflix subtitles to my friends. Chinese seems difficult, but it must be really interesting to learn. 😊
And Netflix or GagaOOlala subtitles are not even the worst. Honestly I don't know from Korean, Chinese or Japanese, which one is the hardest, but for me as a European, it's gonna be a nightmare 😂 That's why I learnt 6 other foreign languages before I register to Chinese beginner classes. You need to start one day! I'll be happy when I can understand basic sentences in a C-drama.
It's nice that the season 2 of School Trip is not airing at the same time as Serizawa.

Welcome back! There have been a lot of good shows this year. I actually gave out a bunch of 9.0 and 9.5, which I have rarely done before. Here’s my list of highest rated shows this year:
Payback 9.5 (my favorite show this year)
Deep In 9.5 (amazing)
Fake Fact Lips/Fake Fact Lips Special 9.5 (delightful)
Sammy’s Children’s Day 9.5 (living rent-free in my head)
The Edge of Horizon 9.0 (InnOngsa are so good, and I learned some Thai history!)
Duang with You 9.0 (watched twice already)
The Prosecutor’s Proposal 9.0 (wonderful surprise hit)
A Winter Sun Wakes the Wind in Spring Hills’ Dream 9.0 (top art film quality)
Ticket to Heaven 9.5 (powerful)
Don’t Be Too Emotional 9.0 (not as high quality as the others on this list but still so good.)
The Lie We Lived In 9.0 (surprisingly riveting)

My Romance Scammer (so much fun)
Burnout Syndrome (interesting and thought provoking. Also sexy.)
Awakening the Steppe (sexy/sweet and stunning scenery)
My favorite shows currently airing are: Mr. Fanboy, Summertime, Nour, Popular Serizawa Acts Weird Around Me, and You Maniac. Til I See You and The Missing Piece are also good, and I was impressed with the premier of The Crow Club today.
I’m almost finished with Connecting to You and I like it a lot. I plan to watch Life in Smokey Blue as well as a bunch of other JBLs, but I haven’t gotten to them yet.
Knot was my biggest disappointment of the year, Double Helix was heavily flawed but still an interesting watch (and a great couple), Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars was fun, Love of Silom wasn’t as good as it could have been, and Be My Player Two is cute but nothing great.
Hope you’re not too overwhelmed. It’s been a hard year for anyone to keep up.

Blue Lips was a deception, honestly except for ep3 which was excellent, there is not much to say about it. The Prosecutor's Proposal and Don't Be Too Emotional are both a 9/10 for me. As for the last 2 you mentioned I can't say much, I didn't watch them.
Deep In and Fake Fact Lips would be my fav from this year, as well as Sammy's Children's Day. And Payback if you want to add a Thai BL (with crazy NC scenes) to my selection.

By coincidence, I binge-watched all 12 episodes of this BL comedy on the long flight yesterday - and totally loved it! I'm watching yesterday's special episode right now. Another winner from Taiwan!
It seems to get punishment ratings from some viewers because there aren't any NC scenes or heavy snogging, which matters to some BL viewers but not to me. Some of my favourite BLs are very PG.

On the flight, I also got about halfway through "Absolute Value of Love" (Amazon Prime Video, which like iQiyi has the advantage of being downloadable for offline viewing on the plane). It's a fujoshi comedy - so BL-adjacent but not BL per se. It's reasonably entertaining, and as with the reality BL casting show "Project XY" that I've been watching, it makes a nice change from the usual BL dramas.
the new actors/partners have a young, fresh-faced beauty that has me smitten—Newyear, especially.
