Interesting I'm curious about your opinion.
Hmm. In my humble opinion, I really don’t think it was all just a dream. The first few minutes of the premiere and the final minutes of the finale definitely were dreams, though.
The opening dream, which pops up subconsciously, comes from Do-hyeon’s desire for his relationship with Eun-ho to turn into something more than just friendship. As for the final dream, it acts as a kind of emotional closure and proves that his feelings weren’t just one-sided, serving as a retroactive answer to the question Do-hyeon asked on his birthday. By reassuring him about the future, Eun-ho turns that last dream into a direct response to the longing shown at the very beginning of the story.
I only caught this when Eun-ho mentions Do-hyeon’s birthday in those final minutes, so I went back to episode 4 and realized he was answering the question Do-hyeon had asked on his birthday, which Eun-ho had skillfully dodged at the time.
At least, that’s how I interpreted it, but I know I sometimes come up with some pretty wild takes (back in high school, I even got a zero on an assignment because I interpreted a poem the “wrong” way), so I could totally be overthinking this
