Guys let’s talk about the bl Couples whose on screen chemistry gave you goosebumps???

As for me-

OffGun- Not me as White and Sean

FirstKhaotung- The Eclipse as Akk and Ayan

OhmNanon - Bad Buddy as Pat and Pran

Lastly Jae young and Sang woo From The Semantic Etror

Eclipse was the 2nd I watched in the genre and a visceral need for those dear vulnerable boys to be safe was my reaction. Not sure if that qualifies as goosebumps. I am old :) I don't binge. It took me about a day cause they needed to be safe.

But this is why i CANNOT watch Only Friends while it's still airing. Those lads are too intense for my own good sometimes ;)

Meanwhile my viewing of Bad Buddy was sheez horrible parents horrible "friends" so much fighting why is everyone raving about this drake is having a blast playing a madman though.... And then eps 5-8 was basically a four hour squeeee with so many genuine LOLs and no bathroom breaks.... Every /4 segment change for eps 9 & 10 was marked by a need to go smash the elventy thousand rating button cause Ohm's acting could get a 10 alone and be too low and Nanon's could get a 10 alone and be too low and Pa and Ink and so it's gone logarithmic... Ep 11 was heart heart heart, perfect, beautiful yes stay like this forever.... And then ep 12 1&2/4 which was no no no no no no this can't be happening called P'Aof bad words no no no no no no no heartsobreaking.... segment 3/4 shock relief more swearing - begrudging acceptance that they'd set it up and played us perfectly - somewhat but only somewhat mollified with the summary of everything we missed . decided to go to bed before 4/4 because SO MUCH and ended up listening to TWO random episodes of Ayla squealing on the Let's Talk BL podcast and finally decided i could handle it ending this morning and don't talk to me about Our Skyy yet. I can't cope.  TL:DR Do you think I was noticing goosebumps?!?!?

I am in that same boat, I can't watch it yet and not sure if I ever will be able to.  I appreciate them as actors and would like to be able to but the characters they are portraying just totally triggered the hell out of me.  I am also old and a sensitive lil snowflake so I'm not surprised there are times when the content just catches me wrong.  I thought I would be immune to getting freaked out about plot after I watched KinnPorsche but apparently NOT!

watching Jun & Jun a few days after finishing Bad Buddy only highlights the former's shortcomings.

on the plus side i'm now craving substance so maybe this is a time to take on one of the heavy ones :D

"Bad Buddy" sets a very high standard for comparison! ("Jun & Jun" wasn't that bad, was it? Or did I like it just because I have a thing for Lee Jun / Yang Jun Mo? )

Something more substantial, hmm ... I was going to suggest "Moonlight Chicken", but I see you're already a fan. Have you ever seen "Until We Meet Again" (Thailand 2019, on Viki), one of my all-time faves? Definitely some very heavy parts ... yet also one of the most powerful BL love stories I've ever seen.

General Manager Choi Jun lost me with the sexual harassment of his intern and I just didn't find anything in the remainder of the series to bring me back. Unfair of course to compare it to Bad Buddy (even though both childhood friends reunited) but watching one after the other, the image of Pat going squishy over Pran's shirt came to mind every time a Jun mentioned the other's scent.

Yes! Moonlight Chicken <3 <3 <3  P'Aof and co got me off to an excellent start with Thai drama. Thanks for the rec on Until. It had gotten lost in my watch list, will make a point of looking it out soon. Ended up with Blacklist, which was good for a day in bed feeling blech after vaccine boosters. Don't care about the plot, am watching the actors (Ohm excellent, wait that's Khaotung he's so young, they're all so young, except Nanon who's giving himself permanent scowl lines, Drake being cheeky, First gets to smile, OMG THAT'S PA (Love), and there are the girls from Enigma, and ....), so not exactly substance :)

You may wish to avoid "Love Mate" (South Korea, 2023) where it's the intern doing the harassing.

Personally, I loved "Love Mate". It should be mentioned that said intern is adorably cute, which makes the harassment totally fine, at least for me. *dreamy sigh* But yeah, if this triggers you, maybe not.

Just finished two newly aired series:

"Why R U?" (the Korean remake that's not really a remake, thus avoiding what would otherwise be a harsh comparison from me): I really liked it! Doesn't feel at all like the low-budget production that it is. I felt very invested in both couples - and cast/acting was quite good, especially considering that most actors had little or no experience. It's interesting how split the reviews are (abject rejection by Thai-series loyalists?). OK, it was admittedly a bit rushed - and if I hadn't seen the Thai original, I would probably have been confused by the basic premise. But enjoyable and cute!

"Love Class 2" (which has almost nothing to do with the first season of "Love Class", which wasn't even a hit, so why did they keep this title?): Alright but not great, especially story/writing/construction. Unusual for a Korean BL: six protagonists (three couples), possibly under the Thai theory that if you throw enough cute guys at the viewers, maybe some will stick?  On the other hand, most other reviewers seem quite enthusiastic (perhaps because the title set low expectations?).

I finished Star in my mind, it was good... but there wasn't anything super spectacular about it.

Yes! Of the currently airing series, this is my fave!

Is anyone following Dabit from "His Man Season 2" (2023) as he starts his journey into the BL genre - watching, not acting? If you're on X, he has a poll to recommend his next watch and he's thinking of having a viewing party.

Yes. He intends to stream and react live. As stated in my original post, " If you're on X, he has a poll..."
