I'm still trying to watch more Japanese BLs, I've watched Ameiro Paradox and The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese, now I'm watching Taikan Yoho... Can you advise me something?

It depends upon your tastes as well as on what subscriptions you have. (Since you watched "Ameiro", I assume you have Viki and/or Gaga.)

I totally agree with Sruthipriya's recommendations. "Takara-kun to Amagi-kun" is an incredibly sweet and cute school BL (first love) and one of my all-time faves. All three parts of "Utsukushii Kare" / "My Beautiful Man" (two series, then the recently released "Eternal" movie as the third part) are superb, with a lot of psychological depth - and as Sruthipriya notes, don't be put off by Kiyoi's behaviour towards Hira at the start of series 1, as there's much more to it that you might think. It's a beautiful trilogy.

As to Karina's recommendation of the excellent "Kimi ni wa Todokanai" ("I Can't Reach You"), in current release on Netflix Japan, note that there is (sadly) no official international release yet, so until then (if ever), it can be best watched (in reasonably good video and subtitle quality) on the "SawasdeePlus" channel on Bilibili.tv.

Another really lovely Japanese school BL in current release is "Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo" (Gagaoolala: "If It's With You"). It just started, so Episode 2 comes out tomorrow.

Some other Japanese BLs from the past year on Viki and/or Gagaoolala that I can wholeheartedly recommend:
"Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu" ("The End of The World With You")
"Bokura no Shokutaku" ("Our Dining Table") - including one of the best little kid actors ever!
+ special follow-on "Bokura no Kyujitsu", oddly listed on Gagaoolala as "Our Dining Table Spin Off"
"Eien no Kino" ("Eternal Yesterday") - theme is a bit heavy/morbid, but still excellent
"Fukou-kun wa Kiss Suru Shikanai!" ("Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice but to Kiss!") - romantic comedy, really sweet and cute, university BL
"Kieta Hatsukoi" ("My Love Mix-Up!") - likewise cute romantic comedy, school BL
Both seasons of "Minato Shouji Coin Laundry" (Gagaoolala: "Minato's Laundramat")
"Shigatsu no Tokyo wa..." ("Tokyo in April is ...")

 Chun Mo Rionnag:
only one or two really bad J-BLS

Now you've got me curious. Aside from "Ossan", what else? (I thought "Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami" was pretty awful, but maybe I just lack the right sense of humour.)

Thank you so much for so detailed advice!

Hi! Japanese BLs are some of my favorites. Much more so than their straight dramas. After checking out your plan to watch list here's a couple that are missing. :-)

Holy cow. This BL Watcher review of "Crazy Handsome Rich" is the worst (harshest) I've ever seen! I didn't actually watch the series, alone because the dubbing was so unbearable - but now I'm almost tempted to, just to see if it's really so awful. Just reading the review makes me laugh!

I one hundred percent agree with this review. It was horrible and frivolous, then the audacity to promote a season. In a time like this when so many countries are delivering top tier bls Thailand as a pioneer in the industry needs to step up. I feel like we get two or four good bls from among the mess of others from Thailand, while other countries are delivering on ever one; albeit you may not find interest or not be in favour of a story line but you can't argue that the quality and depth of the plot is good. This year I must say has been one of the better ones for Thai bls. I love Thai bls majority of my all time favourites are Thai, however it says a lot when you can just look at who is playing the roles and just know the quality and story line will be ridiculous.

Is anyone using the list feature to curate these recommendations so they don't get lost in the depths of the thread? I've found some helpful for other genres, my inability to get far from BL notwithstanding.

There's room for comments too and it's easier to scan than the watch list. This is mine, https://kisskh.at/list/4a6Qbya1  It's just mini reviews for myself because my memory is aging rapidly. Too noob (and personal) for the stalwarts here but it's an example.

One more resource to mention, if you don't already know it: BL Watcher's Japanese BL page. As with any reviews, I don't always agree with the final ratings or with certain opinions - but these are serious and detailed reviews which I can at least respect.

I have a list of my favorite BLs overall, with all countries mixed in.

I also use the NOTE feature for the Plan to Watch list. I include "BL" when adding to the list so  I can find the BL drama titles at a glance when I click on the note button.

Thank you 🙏 I’m also making the lists :)

Today I started watching "I Feel You Linger in the Air" and HOLY SHIT it's amazing.

Honestly, the 2 first episodes were too slow, but when it started to get better, it didn't stop for a moment. It kinda reminds me of "To Sir with Love" but no one is stupid and dramatic.

To all of you who missed it, I really recommend checking it out.

I have a list of my personal favourites, which I update regularly; however, I don't go by many recommendations from this thread; rather, I rely on recommendations from my friends, etc. for older BLs, as i tend to watch all those that are currently airing anyways.

Did you watch laws of attraction?
