Afraid not. It's a gore fest, rather than a scare fest. That said, it's a bit laughable in its extremes.
(Sorry, I quoted a quote. The above quote was from Chun Mo Rionnag, not me.)
So, I watched "Grand Guignol". As you said, it's a gore fest that's so extreme as to be almost like a parody of a slasher movie - except, of course, that's not the point of the "Grand Guignol" premise. Anyways, it's quite impressive how much blood splatter and bodily mutilation they managed to pack into an hour and 23 minutes. With all that, who needs such trivialities as coherant plot and character development? I'm not even sure why they put in the BL scenes, which were rather incidental - or maybe it was just to add a different dimension of cheap sensationalism? (Warning: Do not watch this unless you know what you're getting yourself into.)
On the other hand, it's got a pretty good cast, including three familiar BL actors - and my beloved Sota Ryosuke looks so cute dressed as a maid! (His boyfriend in the photo below is played by Nakao Masaki, who you may recognise as the idol protagonist from "Kabe Koji" - he looks very different here without the blond hair. By the way, if you haven't seen "Kabe Koji", I thought it was pretty good, and much more than just the silly comedy that it seems at first.)
