Love the soundtracks for The Untamed and Utsukushii Kare.

The soundtrack of Naeil's (or Tomorrow's) Cantabile is as captivating to me, as I remember the soundtrack of Love Me, Love My Voice. The combination of friends who love to create music is just the perfect setting for an awesome OST. I could not decide on any one song that I preferred over the others and it seemed upfair that there are so many.

Listen To My Heart - Melody Day

Innocente - Joo Won

I Can't - Melody Day

I'm watching Kururi: Who's In Love With Me and really liking the OST. I wish more Japanese soundtracks were downloadable. It's really too expensive to purchase CDs internationally. Even on ebay it was crazy expensive. Otherwise the soundtrack is only for streaming on iTunes, and the Amazon page had an error. Really wanted to purchase this one as a set of FLAC files T___T im so saaaad lol

But the good news is I rediscovered the VGM database. I've used it before to update soundtrack information on MDL, but didn't save the link or lost my bookmarks, don't remember which. Now it'll be easier to update drama pages again ^_^ They're really good at crediting!

So I just finished Dear HongRang yesterday... 🤧 If you guys watched it too, you'll know why I'm here. Its cause its OSTs are a real gem that comes rarely especially in historical K-Dramas.

Dear Hongrang was a novel adaptation. And I only read the manhwa but I know it was true to its source material nor did it whitewash the characters. And despite viewers saying it didn't meet expectations, for me it beautifuly presented the themes of forbidden love, darkness of misguided faith, weight of regret, gore, vengeance, and redemption within its cinematography and in the music as well.

All of the casts' acting blew my mind, It has been so long since fictional characters made me so emotional. The villains tho- Trashta, Sovishiet, Su Jin, and Ye BingChang were nothing compared to the 'Parents' and the 'Painter' (I hope they rot wherever they are)

Now, back to the music. It blend so well with each scene that watching the series felt operatic. 'Burning Petals' by 4BOUT seriously needs to be studied.

So I just had to make a playlist yesterday so I can also listen to songs that carried the same intensity. Will share it down here, please enjoy! (╹▽╹)

If you guys have any recommendation with similar vibes, please do tell for I'll gladly add it to the playlist! I find this kind of style so unique and enchanting and I'd love to discover them all. Also I wonder what this music style/genre is called. Many say listening to Burning Petals kinda remind them of Bollywood/Tamil songs — maybe I'll add some of my favorites as well?

@wanderingcloud Omg yes first of all this playlist is so good. I like how well you focused the sound/vibes of the tracks. I would recommend listening to the Quartet's ending song (from the jdrama, which is also really good). Though the album that came off of is really good in general https://youtu.be/DbfAwJwNWXE?si=i7Xzo-PhOi29l8JT

Aughh especially this song which comes in with a big band a little under halfway through. Doesnt fit the theme as well but I'll take any opportunity to mention this song (by the same singer) https://youtu.be/GDnLHd2Ei3Y?si=CyIEVsZercTPVnvu

Also the beginning of the second song reminded me of the Taboo soundtrack, though its not as dynamic as the rest of the tracks on the playlist.
