Did y'all want me to do GL News recaps for non asian countries? I'm posting them in the discord, but I'm willing to repost them here for those that aren't on/don't want to be on the discord.

Just let me know.

Or let me know if you feel strongly against posting them in here.

I say post them. Personally they aren't of interest to me, as I only watch Asian dramas these days, but I'm sure others would be interested.  Buy the way, I really appreciate those summaries. They obviously take time to prepare, and they allow me to easily stay up to date.

 G xx:

i will share some GL that i really enjoy!

let me know what you think if you ever watch them ♥

Thank you 🙏

Thank you! So far, I find the recaps much easier to do than what I was doing previously (Day of Airing posts). For 1 or 2 countries, fine enough. But trying to cover everything, especially with Thailand's whirlwind uptick in news, I was way too overwhelmed.

In the discord, everyone kinda comes together and reposts social media posts sharing news, so all I do for these recaps is just scroll from a certain date onwards and summarize. ^-^ Besides, with recaps I get to cover more news than just 'what started airing?'

Thank you for letting me know that you appreciate them though! Hard to tell sometimes considering forums doesn't have like a 'like' feature or something to let me know the posts have been seen XD

GL News from Europe (August - November 18th)

Spain's melodrama "Sueños de Liberdad/Dreams of Liberty" is currently in the midst of airing season 2, and seems to be earning the label of "most watched series on television" being touted by the platform atresplayer. Furthermore, it's getting more and more international streaming releases - with the latest seemingly being HBO Max for Brazil. Lets keep screaming into the internet that we all want Marta and Fina (both major characters btw) on our screens too!

A team called "GL Series Italia" (an online community of Italians sharing their love for GL series) put out a casting call in October for reportedly Italy's first GL project - inspired by the popular Thai works "GAP," "Loyal Pin," "Love Design," and "Queendom." I wonder how they will separate their work as a drama fan community and as a potential producer - because it's really hard to try and track any project progress under the passionate resharing of other projects (which I do love to see, don't get me wrong). However, some people are raising an eyebrow at the way they particularly specified for "attractive actresses" and extras with "good appearance" in the casting call. Also, since filming is only anticipated for a maximum of 3 days, the project may be a short film, minidrama, or microdrama - which while not strange for an indie project, does unfortunately seem to lower the interest levels of some potential viewers. [Source]

Greek and UK produced "Αρκουδότρυπα/Bearcave" has been making its rounds in international film festivals since August - to great reviews and even some rewards. The next one will be at Melbourne Queer Film Festival in Australia on November 19th.

French-Belgium Microdrama "Universelles" finished airing in August with 6 episodes, averaging about 5 minutes per. It is free on Auvio (for Belgium viewers) and on the director/writer's website for everyone else (and yes, it does have english subs).

On Dancing with the Stars Poland, first time same-sex pair Kasia Zillmann & Janja Lesa made it all the way to the semifinals. Although they were eliminated, they were spotted at the finale afterparty where they shared a kiss while dancing. It wasn't just the fact that it was a same-sex kiss on a reality television dance competition that's creating a stir, but also the fact that both of them, up until very recently (as in, unknown and disputed how recently) had public partners. Why does this sound like a fanfiction, y'all? Art imitates life and vice versa, I guess?

GL News from North America (October - November 18th)

US Sapphic film "Hedda," based on a Norwegian tragedy play and described as a female Hamlet, was released in theaters and then on streaming (via Amazon Prime) at the end of October.

US-Filipino adult animated musical series "Hazbin Hotel," celebrated for its themes of rehabilitations and pretty extensive diversity inclusion (including but definitely not limited to main character Charlie and her already established girlfriend), started airing Season 2 on October 29th on Amazon Prime.

Reportedly the first US sapphic vertically-formatted microdrama, CEO-romance "Chained by Her Love," premiered on MyDrama on August 15th. And according to social media comments from the platform, more chapters (seasons?) are planned - if they haven't aired already ofc.

From the same writer/director as "Universelles," but this time produced through Canada, Greek mythology reimagining silent short film "Galatea" premiered at/through Image Out film festival on October 9th.

Be Gay Do Crime epitomized US film "Stone Cold Fox" - notably starring Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones; Don't Trust the B---- in Apt 23) and Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina; Legend of Korra) premiered in domestic theaters on November 7th.

In case you missed it, US action series "Lioness" has been renewed for season 3! But of more recent relevance, filming for season 3 started in October.

The team of US's "Yellowjackets" has confirmed that Season 4 will be the end of the series, with an actual ending in the plans.

In quite quick succession, we got the announcements of THREE new sapphic Christmas movies: US Hallmark's "The Christmas Baby," US Tello's "The Christmas Writer" (which is currently doing a limited theater run and appears to already be available for rent/purchase), and Canada Lifetime's "The Firefighter's Christmas Wish" (the announcement of which was perfectly timed to coincide with the internet hype around New Zealand's woman firefighters calendar, if i do say so myself).

GL News from South America (October - November 19th)

Upcoming Brazilian-Thai drama, previously called "Beyond The Ocean" is now officially titled "Between Sighs." They have even deleted and reposted previously shared promotional material to reflect the new name. [Source]

Previously conflated as being for the same story, there is a newly minted Wattpad novel that goes by "Beyond the Ocean." It is currently on Chapter 16, by the way. Between Sighs and this novel seem to have pretty distinct main characters (names, occupations, motivations), so I do think that they are separate stories.

Promoting the novel is MGV Filmes (this is seemingly their second novel). They have also been releasing music, with the song "Beyond The Ocean" first being released on Spotify in September, and then re-sung and released as a music video on YouTube on November 10th. It appears, based on their YouTube channel video and playlist descriptions that they have plans for a webseries as well, scheduled for 2026. The timelines for this production and the news on Between Sighs overlaps a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if this might be the reason for the latter's title change.

Globoplay's latest 9 o'clock telenovela "Três Graças/Three Graces" started airing on October 20th - with a lesbian couple confirmed to take shape after 2 months on air. [Source]

Chile's Mega Network has been garnering a bit of international attention lately. One of their telenovelas "El jardín de Olivia" has been featuring a lesbian support couple that have viewers applauding at their progression. Some pretty major moments have happened recently. [Source]

Is that an apocalyptic scifi theme I see in the casting call for "Hope"? I certainly hope so. Unfortunately, there's not much news about the plot, or the production team at that. However, it looks like the romance will be between an Asian woman and a Latina or Caucasian woman. [Source]

On October 2nd, Globoplay released the werewolf miniseries "Vermelho Sangue/Blood Red." It is being lauded as Brazil's Teen Wolf... with the added perk of being sapphic! Why yes, I will be feral until I find this with English subtitles, thanks for asking. Furthermore, it has been renewed for a second season (which had already been filmed alongside the first season).

GL News from Australia

Set in the Flunk-universe but geared towards older viewers, Australia's latest GL movie "4 First Dates" premiered on streaming on November 7th. It is available for rent/purchase on Vimeo or through the Flunk YouTube channel membership. However, the film is being broken up into episodes for free on YouTube, with "episode 1" having been released on November 8th - it is not known how frequently parts will be released moving forward.

Long-running Australian soap opera "Neighbours," despite its recent revival in 2023 and much better received queer inclusive plotlines, will be completing its run in December.

GL News from Nigeria

In September, the team behind Nigerian sapphic film Ìfé teased that the trailer for the sequel film will be coming soon.

October 31st marked one year since Nigeria's first (and only?) sapphic film "Ìfé" made it on to YouTube (it was previously on Cinelogue). In that time, it has garnered over 80,000 views and 2,000 likes. Keep showering the film with love! In my opinion, it deserves it.

GL News of Eastern Novel Variety

Much anticipated GMMTV series "Girl Rules" came out with a novel version on October 13th. At the moment, it's only out in Thai.

Thailand's Dark Snow White retelling "7 Patients" by Freaky has started to release international translations (the Spanish version was published on November 14th, and the English version is reportedly coming soon). There's also rumors of a screen adaptation being in talks?

On October 17th, Thanni posted that they are hard at work to get Love In The Rain and other SKIU-verse novels out for fans to read. [Source]

The 4 Elements novels by Salmon have been licensed for translation! The publishers to keep an eye on are Lily House (English), One Love Books (Spanish), and Editora BLB (Brazilian Portuguese). [Source]

On October 27th, Khunphuying shared that the Special Chapter of Dangerous Queen will be getting an English translation soon. She asks that fans please wait for this official version. [Source]
On October 24th, รักนี้ตีตรา/Love Bound by Nawika was released onto Meb. No English translation yet. Reminder/FYI: this is the novel version of OrmsinFolk's upcoming drama.

According to fans, the light novel version of "There's No Freaking Way I'll Be Your Lover, Unless..." has made over 1 million sales worldwide. [Source]

The supernatural yuri light novel "My Storyteller Is Adorably Inept/私の怪談師はポンコツ可愛い" will be releasing Volume 2 on December 1st.
The historical enemies-to-lovers baihe (Chinese GL) novel "The Beauty's Blade" was published in English on November 11th - seemingly making it the first mainland Chinese baihe on the English market, as well as Seven Seas' first baihe title. Crunchyroll is also in on this moment by having their own exclusive cover edition.

Taiwan's "Taiwan Travelogue," which reportedly is the first overall baihe officially translated into English for an English market, won the 2025 ALTA First Translation Prize on November 7th.

Rosmei's pre-order period for their two upcoming baihe translations opened on November 1st and will close on December 1st. Those titles are the sci-fi thriller "Creator's Grace" (Volume 1) and "At the World's Mercy (Vol. 1-2)" which is reportedly the most popular modern court epic baihe out right now. Now, usability of the site without direct links aside, Rosmei did rub baihe fans the wrong way when they decided not to provide any sort of description of the works or the authors - which is bad enough by itself, but being some of the first baihes out in English, and during the mainland chinese crackdown on queer romance writers... this is a highly controversial move. But in the words of Rosmei themselves: "Do people need to know the summary of a book before deciding to read it? Are there novels that can be published or promoted without a summary?"

On November 16th, new Chinese audiodrama of the contemporary novel "烛非鱼/Piaopiao" by Qi Xiao Huang Shu started airing episodes/chapters. [Source]

@AthenatheStorierX

wow, thank you so much for all the news! I’ve added some things to my PTW.

GL News of Western Novel Variety

Despite my recent discovery of them, they are not new. Regardless though, I wanted to spotlight "The Pride Library" --> https://thepridelibrary.com/. Now, they are not in fact a library (US readers redirect to Queer Liberation Library instead; please let me know of any other similar libraries you are aware of), but they are a pretty thorough and functional database of queer books.

Sapphic Chapters, a wlw specific database, is new on the scene though so please give them a good warm welcome! https://www.sapphicchapters.com/

Another resource I have to shout out is the instagram page that is Must Read Sapphic (https://www.instagram.com/must.read.sapphic/). It is from them that I have gleaned much of the following information.

Among the works published between November 1st-2nd

  • 6 were Christmas themed (5 of which were part of a multi-authored series called "Lez The Halls", one of those even being by Lily X (aka, GL omegaverse extraordinaire)).
  • We also got book 1 of a new fantasy series that has good initial reviews though I question the choice of book cover
  • I would be remiss not to mention the friends-to-lovers fake dating contemporary romance called "Last First Kiss"
  • Book 11 in the New Orleans series, "November" by Nicole Pyland slid in amongst the bookshop owner x property developer romances, with a pretty impressive set of opening ratings and reviews.
  • Also amongst these announcements was fantasy standalone "Held in Her Storm” by E. Rosa
  • Suspense standalone "Without Borders" by Stacy Reynolds.
From November 3rd-10th, we saw the publication of

And then from November 10th-13th, we saw the publication of

 AthenaTheStorierX:
Book 3 of The Golden Court series (this book's cover creates the lesbian flag btw)

I mean, come on, this cover is gorgeous.
