FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD RELEASE UPDATE

Thai GL drama B-Friend released today (May 31st) on MCOT and WeTV/Tencent.

The 12-episode production is a collaboration between major broadcaster MCOT and  the talent agency IDX Entertainment -  which some may recognize as the talent management agency behind Berry Berry - the pop group from which many of our Love In The Rain universe actors/actresses were from. It's also an adaptation of a novel written by Guy Suwannaroj and Lita P (Deep Night; Lover Merman; upcoming Deep Love; upcoming Un-Trovert; upcoming Dream Mind).

The dramatic work started filming in February 2025, and quickly gained a fair bit of hype due to the presence of a masc woman amongst the mains. The mains themselves seem to be in a complex love triangle (indeed, a true love triangle where all 3 are connected to each other) that have some (such as myself) hoping for a poly relationship. No confirmation on that yet though. But we do also have a GL side couple and a BL side couple.

FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD RELEASE UPDATE!

Thai GL Denied Love started airing the other day (May 29th) on WeTV/Tencent.

The drama consists of 10 episodes, with both the cut and uncut versions available to watch on streaming. In fact, the cut version (TV version) will be fully available for free officially on a week delay.

This age-gap arranged marriage (yes, between the female leads) romance was produced by Copy A Bangkok (Make It Right; YYY; Playboyy; Y-Destiny; War of Y), this drama will be their first GL. This company has a decent long-standing history of producing BL content of a variety of styles, often with socially-important messages weaved into the narrative. The drama started filming in March and is an adaptation of a novel which has officially received both English and Spanish translations.

Starring:
- June (I Feel You Linger in the Air)
- Enjoy (To Be Continued; upcoming Only You)

Other recognizable cast:
- Natty (Ghost Host, Ghost House)
- Hymn (Bed Friend; Step By Step; Playboyy)

Synopsis:
When you've sworn off love and accept a marriage of convenience with the daughter of your father's best friend to keep your inheritance and your wife is the clingiest lovesick puppy determined to seduce and win you over...

Here's hoping English subs will follow. Part of me thinks I might have seen one of the actresses b4, but I could be wrong 🤷🏾‍♀️

🍢 Discussion Post 🎆

Sorry that it's a week late!

I can't believe nobody had reviewed Bunny Bunny. I just did.

I've just finished reading "One Summer in Miami".

It's a bit longer than a typical romance novel, but I found it well written and quite engaging.  If you are a reader, and you're looking for an enjoyable GL rom-com novel, this give this one a go.

Hello folks!

Happy weekend :)

I've just written my first ever review on MDL. It is for the Korean Lesbian dating show "To Get Her".

If you are willing, please check out my review and give me a "YES" to the "Was this review helpful to you?" question at the bottom of my review.

Thank you.

Indie Vietnamese GL movie and series:

I haven’t watched too many GLs so far but I’m still trying to watch more so I can find the ones that are best for me. it still takes me time to get through them as I’m watching lots of non GL stuff as well.

i finished 23.5 and Pluto. I had to take a break during the third act of both of these, because I got a bit bored or annoyed. 23.5 was sweet and I liked Milk a lot but it could have used a bit more umph. More tension or something? Pluto was good and Namtan was 🔥🔥🔥 but I didn’t like the third act twist. I also watched season one of Blank. I started it last year but i couldn’t stand the way Yoko acted ridiculously cute to make herself seem young. So I stopped after the first three episodes. But I went back and finished and she had stopped that act so I could focus more on the story. And I thought it was great. And I loved Faye. So I will watch s2/the second half of that. Then I will try one of the suggestions for GLs with butch or more masculine characters. while I liked these shows (and Us) I have to say I’m still waiting for a couple that is totally smoking together. Namtan and Film had one scene that felt that way to me but not all of their intimate scenes felt believable. one of my favorite scenes was when Namtan was in the bath and Film reaches her hand in. It doesn’t end up being much but Namtan’s reaction was so wonderful.

i Am trying to keep track of all the suggestions and add them to my watch list. I know there are a lot but I’m still happy to get them.
