Maybe I'm built different but if someone's in pain, of course I'll help them? This extends to entire groups worldwide, not only my own turf (aka country or even small group of people I know personally).

Like, there's no excuse for their behavior, restricting gay rights and all.

Agreed. Trying to understand driving forces behind societal queerphobia helps me cope with it, but I will never think any of it is a valid excuse. Driving forces might nudge people in one direction or the other, but in the end we all have the ability to choose to learn and accept those who are different from us, who might even initially confuse or scare us.

 Tina:
I'm sorry you had to go through that (with regards to conversion therapy). Those people should be banned from practicing.

Yeah I wish haha.

 RealNevermore:
We are currently going through the legal procedures because we want to do a reciprocal IVF which falls under grey area of the law in our country, surrogacy is prohibited for same sex couple so couples have to approach as a single mother. Here lesbian couples has done it before and the mother giving birth will become the legal parent (though not biological mother) but there are workaround which couples used like deed of familial association and guardianship for legal protection of non legal parent.

I hope it all works out! For years, a friend of my mom was legally the 'dad' of her and her girlfriend's child haha (for clarity, no she's not trans).

 RealNevermore:
Most of the times, multiple account commenting there will be one single CCP shill or the so called Little Pink.

In cases like these, sometimes I wonder if it's just a bot. The CCP used to give people 50 cents per pro-CCP internet post (五毛党), but I bet now they just use AI for that instead.

hi im new gl and this chat so if theres any good starter gls anyone would recommend me then i would be delighted :)

Hi welcome! Agreed with the Ayaka and Hiroko suggestion. Also try Queendom :)

 emzers:

I havent seen any proper series but ive watched a couple youtube ones such as "INTP flirting" and "afraid of" which i enjoyed but i know there a better series out there but im just unaware of them.

Ah I see, then you could start with the one recommended by Tina, also you can check out Pluto, Us the series, Gap the series etc

Exactly. Couldn't have said it better. It is a choice to hate, like they could just not do it? But yeah, hopefully things will look up for the community in upcoming decades.

And most importantly: I hope ww3 doesn't happen, like at all. Idk if I'd survive that, like, it's a world war. where do you go from there?? I'm confused

this is so off-topic though, sorry!

going back to GLs...

 emzers:
thank you! i have not seen that so i will put that on my list

sure thing!

also, if you want GL movies:

The Handmaiden (South Korea)
Love My Life (Japan)
Butterfly (Hong Kong, 2004)

These are good imho, but of course there are more. I'd say start with whichever appeals to you most and work your way through them. Everyone's recommending a few series so you'll have no shortage of GLs :D

Thanks Ryn, it's ridiculous and hilarious both that they had to go through that 'daddy' issue. No pun intended 😂

Recently I have watched this https://kisskh.at/773735-kanojo-no-kuchidzuke-kansensuru-libido while surviving through the GL draught and found it really well directed, the actors also did amazing protreying their characters, the kisses were amazing and whole thing left me wanting for more. This is available on Drama Otaku. One of the lead is sensitive of her teeth structure or the direction said her to hide it while smiling, so it felt a little bad to me, otherwise it was a really good watch. I would like recommend this to all.

omg they made a movie too! I only knew of the short drama (2 eps).

*adds it to priority ptw custom list*

thanks for the rec!

I am not sure but it's a 3 part thing. Most probably the dramas you are talking about are assembled in one thing? Or is it different?

Edit - yes, it's a compilation of the dramas

Noo, I only knew it had one part but it has 3! I just noticed this lol

More GL for us, I'm not complaining :))

Couldn't agree more. And we need more parts, the story has huge potential.

Wow all of these movies seem so good and I will try and watch all of them in the future. "love My Life" really drew me in so i'm planning on watching that first. Im super grateful for the recommendations so thank you!

hi im new gl and this chat so if theres any good starter gls anyone would recommend me then i would be delighted :) im open to anything and would also love to see what everyones favs series are!!

There are lots of great Thai GLs that have been released in the last few years, but I want to mention my two favourite series.

1. ClairBell - In my opinion, this is easily the "best" Thai GL drama so far, in terms of production quality. The risk of watching this drama early in your GL drama viewing career is you might assume all other Thai GLs will be of a similar quality, which they are not. It's a bit more "mature" than most other Thai GLs, which tend to mostly be light-hearted, fluffy rom coms.

2. Blank The Series - This drama resonated with me more than any other Thai GL, and it remains my personal favourite. The central plot point is a large age gap between the leads which some viewers find problematic, so consider that before you watch it. This drama is broken up into two "seasons", but the splitting of the drama is artificial as it is a single story.

There are HEAPS of other enjoyable Thai GL dramas that you should check out as well. Some of the best (in my opinion) are … in no particular order:

Pluto
The Loyal Pin
Us
Queendom
Roller Coaster
Player
Love Design
The Secret of Us
Poisonous Love
Affair

Thank you so so so much! These all look like amazing series and I really appreciate you adding the links for each one <3 I've heard so much about clairbell so I am excited to find the time to watch it

Since you said love my life sounded interesting, I figured I would recommend some things that are kind of in that vein ie a bit more complicated, queer, and realisticish.

Family Plan

Fragrance of the First Flower

Veils

For something a touch later than all of these, She loves to cook, and she loves to eat

This was a shot in the dark but I hope there's atleast something on here you end up enjoying!
