I want to branch out into watching JDrama's but the few that I have tried just couldn't grip me enough, they don't have the same feel as K and CDrama's.

Can someone recommend some good comedy/romance or pretty much any genre as long as it's good. Which don't have no cheating plotlines unless it's the lead that is cheated on by an ex that disappears.

Thanks

Hi Paul

I'm not a huge J-drama fan, mostly cuz of the over the top acting and childish behaviors/expressions, but I do keep a short list of J-dramas that aren't too much like that. (You can ignore the reality dating titles, lol)

I will give them a look, Weirdly I started watching Kdrama's by accident after clicking on The Beauty Inside (2018) and just binged watched it and never looked back, but I always had a fascination with Japan that I have never properly explored. I need to go there lol

Funny you mention ignoring the Reality ones, they are literally what I hate the most about modern entertainment, along with online celebs lol

I mean they're pretty to look at but very little that interests me.

Will give them a go I already actually had Numbers 4,5 and 6 marked to try.

Awesome. Yeah reality isn't for everyone. I have a few that I love, but many that I don't.

I started with K-dramas and still love them, but I also enjoy C-dramas, both modern and historical.

I hope you like and enjoy some of the J-drama  titles. Happy drama watching!

I will give them a go as well I haven't came across any of these so far.

I think other than Battle Royale I've only watched one other Japanese thing, So I have a lot to try.

Then I can jump into Thai shows lol

Just looking on your profile page and saw the Challenge section, I think I'm going to be addicted to completing them : )

Some Thai dramas are great. You can try Home School. It's my very first completed Thai drama. Pretty boys and girls everywhere and I like its plot, there were some mystery, action and mind games too. Before that (like a decade ago) I tried watching Mario Maurer's drama but dropped it. And the latest Thai drama I completed was Thicha. It's a Baifern Pimchanok's revenge drama. The romance was very sweet, but the ending was a bit unexpected. It's pretty crazy and exciting.

Some Thai movies are also great. Homestay was awesome with an unexpected plot twist. And The Con-Heartist (also Baifern's work) was hillarious.

Good luck with your challenge(s)~

I'm also addicted to challenges. Now that I got too much at hands (my fault), I'll try to finish them all before joining any other challenge.

May i know what are some of your fave Dorama titles so far ?

If you're looking for comedy, you might want to check out Rebooting or Hot Spot or Story of My Family --they're all available on Netflix. I know accessibility can be a problem for people trying to branch out into Japanese dramas.

As for romance, I second Kikazaru Koi ni wa Riyuu ga Atte. Kono Koi Atatamemasuka is good too, and it's available on Viki under the title A Warmed Up Love.

If Doramaa refers to Japanese drama series, I haven't finished any so far.

I have started 4 or 5 but haven't got passed the 1st episode of any of them.

Thank you, will definitely get around to these especially Rebooting and Hot Spot as Sci-Fi was what I used to watch religiously when I was a teen although mostly American Sci-fi from the 90's and 2000's, I think which Is why one of my 1st Kdrama's was Sisyphus: The Myth and The Beauty Inside had to keep that Sci-fi link going lol.
