My first post here is going to be spoiler filled so you've been warned. Nothing here will be spoiler free.
Omg, the way I've been falling in love with Zhang Shan Shan is just crazy. I mean, even when she's the supporting role in The Favorite starring Wang Bo and Zhao Fei, she steals the show entirely. Shan Shan has easily become one of my all-time favorite actresses. It doesn't matter if she's cannon fodder or the leading lady, she'll devour the script she's given every time.
And speaking of, my top favorite short drama of hers has got to be Reincarnation - Madam, She Went Crazy and Oppressed the Whole Family (2024). In this particular drama, she leads alongside Liang SiWei as an ignored and ab-sed wife who was misunderstood by her husband. Due to this, he also ignores his own child which leads to both their deaths. Zhang Shan Shan really delivered the character on another level. She took that character on the page and gave it LIFE. I mean, she truly captured the feeling of a desperate mother who just lost her child, trying to use the second chance at life to save her daughter. I give this performance of hers a huge 10/10 and recommend everyone watch it.
