Can somebody explain "Recommended for You"?

I was so excited to enter in the names of the all the dramas I had completed and see what it would recommend. It recommended, first, KDramas, which I rarely watch or finish. Okay, filtered to China only. Then it recommended a bunch of modern setting dramas (rarely watch and never finish!), some wuxia I'd never heard of, and then some older dramas. The older dramas I get because I have watched a few more older dramas than the average CDrama newb. I recently realized I started watching 6 years ago so maybe not so much of a newb anymore. So I don't mind that, it's just that the rest of the recommendations make no sense. And even when I add another drama as I remember them, the listing doesn't change much. So it's clearly based on some sort of calculation and isn't random. So why does it recommend what it does?

I can't help you, I just wanted to say it's exactly the same for me, it recommends me everything except things I'd actually watch. It does not correspond to either my most watched genres nor most watched tags nor similar dramas recommended on the pages of those I've actually watched. I think this feature is just completely broken. That, or it recommends based on most popular stuff in general, not your actual personal preferences.

I'm checking my personalized recommendation and after opening 5 pages, it has around 5-7 titles that I may want to watch but won't watch in like the next 2 years (already has too many titles to watch).

I think it should be half random. Some titles have my favorite actors/actresses. Some once on my ptw list. Some have been deleted from my dropped list.

Maybe your list is too small (with 76 shows and 4 movies) that the algorithm could not yield the best result (yet).

Anyway recommendation is just recommendation. It's not like you have to follow what it gives you. Maybe in your case (person who knows what to look for), asking for recommendation from other users is much more effective and quicker than using the feature.
