Can we talk about K-culture?   K- Drama   K- Pop   K- Directors    K-writers   K- Casting Directors  respectfully  and  fairly!?

Is there a misconception about ACTING?

In your opinions, what is it that makes a good actor and  actress?

What's makes a good  scripts?

Would you rather watch great performances of skills actors and actresses  with mediocre drama's  plot which is second rated and  ridiculous or Vice versa?

A good actor and actress imo are the person who could portray various type of characters. Lee Do Hyun and Kim Tae Ri imo are great actors. Park Eun Bin (though I only finished 1 of her drama and dropped the rests) and Yoo Ah In too are great actors. But I think maybe Ma Dong Seok (Don Lee) is the most known? My best friend's husband affectionately mention him from time to time. Or Lee Byung Hun? Or maybe the one who's always survive in Squid Game (don't watch it, dislike survival game). Yeah, I forgot his name. That Jung Woo Sung's longtime best friend and business partner who dated a food company's heir, iirc has a daughter with a Samsung's family (core?) member. #gossipping Yet, 5 minutes later, I still can't remember his name...

A good script is the one that's never boring. One that doesn't put any filler and nonsense to lengthen the drama.

I'd rather skip both bad drama and bad acting. But mediocre acting is acceptable because I like several actor and actress only because of their visuals. 😅

For me a good actor/actress is one who can convey the role they are playing through their expressions and body language not just the dialogues..their microexpressions and their expression when other actors are talking says a lot about the character they are playing at that time.

Good script should have a good plot and subplots , each character should be well written and consistent , like if they have a redemption or growth arc it should be shown coherently not sudden switch,  comedy or mini-fun elements.

Good script + good acting,  good script+ ok acting, I've also enjoyed watching some mediocre scripts elevated by amazing acting,  but no one can save a bad script no matter how good the actors are.

Thanks for giving such great prompts for my journal.

Do you care to elaborate, a bit confuse here

Thank You.

@sIRLii  The three questions you posed above are very interesting for me to think about on how to answer in the future.

Can't fathom the K- entertainment industry

Seen like money comes first

Skilled, talented, great actor, actress,  and  singer  come second

Help! Could be wrong.

@SIRLii Your observations sound interesting.

Parents paid the music entertainment  industry for their talented gifted children to DEBUT  number 1 songs  on one  album   plus the album sold out

Do the parents got their money back or the pay start from the next album?

On any show only the good gifted singers are  eliminated  and the  "  can't sing "   got through, however, the talented ones are put to good use so the lesss talented can  lip sync  in  public.

Same goes for  ACTING  UNBELIEVABLE!

For me a good actor is made by reacting attentively in scenes; communicating a wide range of emotions with the eyes, body language and voice modulation.

For good script - I think the key word is resonance. If the story in a movie/show is so good that it leaves you thinking about the characters/plot points, and days after you've seen it then it is a good script.

Well, different people will have different answers. None of which are necessarily true or false because it’s completely subjective.

Don't agree

Tell you why

Many examples

Pick one because it's an asian "thang"

The man from nowhere   Won Bin

No need to buy people on social media   News paper GLOBALLY  to post positive  comments about him as an actor  He's a  genius  at acting he's too good at what he does some PTB hates him for his acting talent

The problem is TPTB  will do anything within their power to fight negative comments about their puppet actor and actress

When something or someone is that good  it's  INSTANT HIT    gone viral

No need for  defamation  of character

No need to cheat

No need to lie

No need for abuse of power

No need to suppress the truth

No need for  " I will make sure that no other entertainment industry will hire you  it's my way or no way "

For  some it's psychological  destruction

Get out or suffer the consequences

Hope you understand.
