BL female viewers are you attracted to 'real' men?

I might not read it after all. I'm reading Addicted Heroin novel now (still by the same author) and it's like, okay. But I've only read 38 chapters. I don't know what's gonna happen next tbh

From other people, I heard the RL novel is wild, but not in a good way. So, I was left wondering and went into this as a challenge as in "bet, I'll read it all" lol

But I'd rather not waste my time if it's really bad. >_<

Seems like some BLs does fluffy romance without real plot. Like Your Sky (though imo it's cute).

iQIYI made My Stand-In and Reset, and they're so good imo. But I'm not sure about other Thai BLs produced/co-produced by iQIYI.

I wish GMMTV stop making rom-com BLs with little to no plot, with too many couples (I dislike most of their school setting BLs). The last GMMTV's BL series that I completed was Thame Po iirc.

I also think Japanese BLs are really good. But Chinese danmei novel and its censored/non-censored adaptation is really on another level. There are a few danmei novels I read multiple times, because they're so good, especially the historical and mystery novels. Priest, for example, is really good, though she also wrote some straight novels like the one adapted into Legend of Fei.

I am pansexual/bisexual so I can’t speak as a “het” viewer but I can speak as someone who finds men attractive.

1) two hot men being hot together is hotter than one (lol)

2) BL stories often feature men behaving in ways that aren’t common in real life, such as being particularly emotionally sensitive or vulnerable. these kind of characters appeal to me.

3) I agree with what was said above about not having to insert myself into the story because there are no women in it. Stories with pretty women make me feel pressure to be pretty and behave in certain ways. If there are no women I can just enjoy the romance and NC scenes without thinking about what i should or would do.

4) i Like and relate in a positive way to queer stories. I don’t mind thinking about myself in the story when it’s about coming out or homophobia. I have been through these experiences and find it moving to see others go through them.

5) most mainstream beautiful women don’t suit my taste in women. I like butch women and powerful women and non binary people. Het or GL stories rarely show these types. I like pretty men and BLs show lots of them. 

6) being queer and behaving in ways that go against societal norms is appealing and sexy. So queer men are sexier to me than straight men, on screen and in real life. (This is probably why i married someone nonbinary, born female. The men I like aren’t into me.)

Yes I'm het F. Yes, I'm attracted to men. But I don't think watching BL is related to that. I just think BLs explore more relationships and straight dramas (except school/college themed shows) focus on stories while romance just happens in between.

Regarding being in a relationship with a man, well, nowadays men are being fed the idea that you need to control your wife and she needs to be subservient and not to let her work, but at the same time women are gold diggers who only want your money. Plus I see men calling women names and some even openly tell each other to kill their wives if they are upsetting their husbands. It is a messed up world.

 So if I decide to marry, it will be for love and if I feel peace with that person. Right now it feels more like applying to be a slave - having all of the responsibilities without having any rights.

I went back and read this whole feed from the beginning. the discussion touches on a lot of issues. While I didn’t answer the original question, the question of why BLs are appealing is complicated.

as far as liking BLs vs. being sexually attracted to men, I have been told that lots of asexual people are BL fans. (Some even make YouTube videos about BLs.)  one explanation for this is one of the explanations I gave as well. If women aren’t in the story, we are sexually removed from what is happening. For someone asexual, or someone who simply doesn’t want to date most men, this allows us to enjoy sexual interactions without feeling like we have to participate in them.

You also said you assume women who like BLs watch gay porn. This is not an assumption you should make. I love explicit NC scenes in BLs and even some of the BLs that verge on porn. But porn made by the porn industry, gay or straight, does not appeal to me. It has a different, more sexually aggressive flavor that I find distasteful. BLs try to include a story to go with the sex scenes. Even if it’s a bad story, it still lends a different feel to the whole thing.

i did watch some lesbian porn when I was in my twenties but it was inadequate at best, made by men for men. Unfortunately queer women do not have enough financial power to command an industry of our own. So for now I will stick with BLs, good or bad.

I have never watched gay porn though. I don't watch porn in general. 

There is a HUGE difference between porn and romance dramas. For some reason there are men who say romcom dramas are porn for women which is the worst  comparison I have ever heard. Porn is just mindless sex and sometimes non-consensual videos that get uploaded to porn sites. Porn actually harms the mind and mindset of people who think that is normal. There are men who wrongly believe that porn depicts a normal sex life.

I would say no, it's very very fanfiction trash by someone with a 13 year old fangirl mentality who didn't know much about gay men or gay sex or kinks and she just wanted to write her messy thoughts and fantasies out incoherently. Even Chai Jidan recommended that new fans/viewers don't read the webnovel, she used the word 'unhinged' to describe herself, in case you need any more convincing LOL.

The ONLY bonus on the webnovel (for me) was that 2CHENG had a sexual past and it was mentioned in the novel more clearly, CC's feelings towards Chengyu also were kept ambiguous in the webnovel. I wish we could have seen more of that mentioned in the show because I liked them together better than the main pairings. Just my personal taste.

That's the WHOLE point of my curiosity. I came to post the question here because I originally saw a discussion between HET WOMEN saying that they were put off by sex with real men but they like BL. 

One of the comments I read literally said she felt icked out touching a dick while kissing a guy and that she didn't want to touch it ever again. So. I was curious about how that works. The man's mouth is fine, but not his dick? So i asked the question as it stands, for het women (and bi also by extension of attraction to both).
