Yes you absolutely can validly weigh in, and this first answer alone puts you into the category I mentioned in my original question, so everything else you like it about BL is just extra entertainment and enjoyment. My curiosity came in when wondering how the attraction to real men was missing in some het females, and some BL watching het women who have a dislike or aversion to male genitalia. But some of the answers here have been very interesting and offered some good alternative reasons.
You also said you assume women who like BLs watch gay porn. This is not an assumption you should make. I love explicit NC scenes in BLs and even some of the BLs that verge on porn. But porn made by the porn industry, gay or straight, does not appeal to me. It has a different, more sexually aggressive flavor that I find distasteful. BLs try to include a story to go with the sex scenes. Even if it’s a bad story, it still lends a different feel to the whole thing.
i did watch some lesbian porn when I was in my twenties but it was inadequate at best, made by men for men. Unfortunately queer women do not have enough financial power to command an industry of our own. So for now I will stick with BLs, good or bad.

Oh, thanks, I skimmed through it (I'll read more later), but I noticed many of them say they find the male genitalia ugly to LOOK at, like it's just visual, which is different than not wanting to be sexual involving it. I would say no, it's very very fanfiction trash by someone with a 13 year old fangirl mentality who didn't know much about gay men or gay sex or kinks and she just wanted to write her messy thoughts and fantasies out incoherently. Even Chai Jidan recommended that new fans/viewers don't read the webnovel, she used the word 'unhinged' to describe herself, in case you need any more convincing LOL.
The ONLY bonus on the webnovel (for me) was that 2CHENG had a sexual past and it was mentioned in the novel more clearly, CC's feelings towards Chengyu also were kept ambiguous in the webnovel. I wish we could have seen more of that mentioned in the show because I liked them together better than the main pairings. Just my personal taste.

Ooh interesting thread! In my case, I do find pussy really attractive though. Like, a woman's body in it's entirety is perfect to me. I only have this problem when it comes to men's bodies. I like Japanese BLs and they were my favorite up until this year. I'm telling you, if China didn't have the ban on gay media, they'd be the best out of all MDL countries. That being said, I'm happy with what we've got so far.

Yes, for me, the idea of a man socially, in terms of behaviours, believings, thoughts and personality, make me so disgust that in my whole my life, if not with one "normal man" I studied with, I've never really felt in love with no man. Ah, had I but the time to write freely and without hindrance. I wrote fanfiction for many years but I have tabled that now because I'm actually writing an original LGBTQ fantasy novel (with the mental casting of two of my fave BL actors, they've been muses for the characters likenesses). So maybe, when I'm done with that, I'll write 2CHENG, I would certainly enjoy it!

Oh yeah, I plan to publish it! I have been a hobbyist writer for years (I write on two different accounts, my other account I don't share on my socials but my major fanfiction stories in different fandoms are all there, I keep that account separate from 'Lyson'). I've been encouraged to, and have been considering, writing an original novel for a long time but as of a few months ago I finally started it.
