Chun Mo Rionnag:

It's New Year's Day, so I had the traditional steak pie.
Sides are Brussels sprouts, and carrot & swede mash.

Thank you for sharing!  Sounds good! 😋

We had our New Year’s dinner which is not terribly exciting but definitely healthier than our recent Christmas indulgences. 😄

Mixed beans. We’re supposed to eat black-eyed peas but I loathe them.  The few in our bean mix will have to do all the lucky work this year. 😁 Collard greens (sautéed until wilted)-green for the color of our money.  Cornbread-supposedly the color of gold.  And some leftover  Christmas stocking candy for dessert.

Oooh. I think I've heard of beans being lucky for New Year's, but I can't remember from which culture. I've always wanted to try cornbread; it sounds delicious.
