Not a negative contribution point, more like "secret number" only approval staff will see. I never experienced this myself, only read through support forum some time ago. I can not confirm its mechanism or how much it will cost for every rejection, but it looks like if you have a "really bad" ratio you can't edit until certain period of sanction.
