Best and Worst Dresses at the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards

On April 26, numerous actresses showcased various beautiful dresses as they walked down the red carpet at the "48th Baeksang Arts Awards." However, not all actresses chose the perfect dress for herself. While some flaunted refined and sophisticated beauty, some took too much of risk and won the title of "Worst Dresser."

Kim Ah Joong, who has been hosting the Baeksang Arts Awards for years now, was indeed the "Queen of Baeksang." She entered with co-host comedian Lee Hwi Jae in a sophisticated long black dress, with just the right amount of midriff showing. She proved that a woman can look sexy without revealing too much skin. Natural hairdo and makeup added refined beauty to her dress.

Kim Min Hee was another best dresser with her long white dress embroidered with lace. The one-shoulder design covered Kim Min Hee's skinny, boyish figure and accentuated her long legs. She added accent to her white look with bright red lipstick. She also know exactly how to present herself. From the moment stepped onto the red carpet, she greeted cameras and excited fans with calm smile and great composure.

Meanwhile, Kang So Ra tried something new with sexy leopard printed tube top dress. However, the result was rather disappointing. The extravagant print and bright blue color of the dress muted Kang So Ra's beauty and character. The nude-tone makeup made her look dark rather than bringing out the natural beauty. None of Kang So Ra's usual healthy, bright character showed through this dress.

Hong Soo Ah was another unfortunate dresser at the Baeksang Arts Awards. While she is known for her healthy, shapely body, the floral empire dress hid all of her figure, making her figure look skinnier and more boyish. Considering that Hong Soo Ah always wowed the crowd at various award ceremonies with appropriately sexy dresses, this was a surprisingly disappointing choice she made.

I don't agree with soompie's choice of the best and worst dresses. I find the shoulder "puff" of Kim Min Hee's dress proportionally too big, the dress doesn't emphasise her femininity in the breast area, either and the entire shape looks off in my eyes. Although I don't think it's one of the prettiest dresses ever designed I find Hong Soo Ah's dress not as "unfortunate" as the writer of the article; to be honest I think it looks more elegant (and not like a tablecloth) than Kim Min Hee's dress. I find those "best and worst dress" articles always a little distorting - those articles always appear as if they have discovered the one and only truth. For a matter of fact tastes are different. :) (And that's good!) --- Congratulations to Suzy btw! I haven't seen her newest project yet but I like her as a character and therefore am happy to see that she has (supposedly) improved from her Dream High days. I also like her dress - it's a little fluffy and fairy tale-like. --- Oh and I like the big black dress in the first collection (second from the left) and the blue dress next to it. Oh and of course Kim A Joong's dress. :) EDIT: I changed my mind. I just enlarged the big black flattery dress and it's not as elegant as it appeared to be. It looks quite uncomfortable to wear and its owner looks unnaturally thin and unhealthy in it. --- Oh well and that's it. Why am I writing so much? I've never really cared about those events anyways but a small glance at the dresses and winners. ;)

I liked Uee's dress and and Hong Soo Ah's dress the best. But I'm really dissapointed that KSH won the best actor. I love him and all, I thought he was great but not the best. For me Shin ha kyun should have won that award. :'(

Big Bang‘s T.O.P can’t seem to take his eyes off of miss A‘s Suzy.

On April 26th, during the ‘Paeksang Arts Awards‘ awards ceremony, T.O.P was in charge of awarding Suzy with the “Best Female Rookie Actress” award for her role in the movie ‘Introduction to Architecture.’

As Suzy made her way across the stage to receive her award, T.O.P seemed to have fallen for her cute and innocent charm. A picture compilation (seen below) of T.O.P observing Suzy as she received her award has been spreading rapidly on the internet, and “T.O.P’s auto scan” was one of the top searched terms on Korean portals. Netizens used this nickname to describe how T.O.P seemed to scan Suzy up and down as she came up to receive her award. Even when Suzy nervously gave a short speech expressing her gratitude for the honor, T.O.P seemed to have a content smile on his face.

With her rookie award for the movie ‘Introduction to Architecture’, Suzy set a record of conquering all 3 areas of the Korean entertainment industry: dramas, music, and movies.
