Another vid i came across just now. Hahah.

This was during Li JiaQis livestream where he asked JC who he shipped. JC replied he shipped XL x FFB. So the fans  photoshopped the 2 together.

LOL!  Yes, the infamous Liu x Bei ship!

 H19279:
I don't think I ever watch any of his drama. But I know he belongs to the 90 generation.

Hmm! It seems like he kinda flies under the radar a bit. The 90-liners that get most of the attention (probably because they have huge and crazy fandoms) are Yang Yang, Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo. Saw comments that both leads are hoping that  First Frost will increase their popularity and turn them into liu lang.

Is anyone here watching it?

Did you watch Moonlight Mystique H19279? I know that you are fond of the Ancient Love Poetry's world, and this series is part of it.

 Kokuto:

I'm pretty sure this is AI, and probably fan made, but WOW!

Pretty, but AI is freaking scary!!!

This doesn't look like XL, more like that character in NaZha 2 that has been showing up all over sm. I have to admit that when I saw that character with the white hair, I did think of XL :-)

Yes, I had looked forward Moonlight Mystique a lot since I read the unfinished novel which was adapted to MM. The author sold the copyright before she finished writing or finished uploading all the chapters. Thus, I watched it was as soon as  it was on air. They changed the story fundamentally thus no link with the previous characters in ALP anymore except some old names. And the drama content is very much different from the original novel too.
I was very disappointed. However I kept watching until the end.

Many people (many are Bai Lu's fans) in the comment section of MM praised the drama (just regarded it as a standalone work). However, I found them exaggerated. The visual effect (cgi) was average, some props and scenery design was poor. The script buffs the female lead too much and Bai Lu's performance in this drama was quite the same as her other works. I was impressed most of Dai Lu Wa who played Ah Nian in Lost you forever. Her performance in MM was more impressive and improved than that in LYF.

Wang Yibo

Wang Yibo belongs to 95s generation.

 Kokuto:
I saw that news.  I don't know what it means for Winner is King.

Just saw a melon that Winner is King will be shown in Thailand in March. Very much not reliable, but still hoping for the drama to be released somewhere. This is probably the only unreleased drama of TJC that I'm interested in seeing.

Yeah, I heard weibo was hot with this rumor.  I found two tweets where this rumor may have come from.  Apparently an actor on WiK said something about it on a livestream and maybe a post?  Something about being asked by the platform if they would be okay with it being aired overseas?  Like why are they asking this minor role?  I'm not sure how Thailand got into.  Maybe that was actually what they asked about?

I saw that too.  It also mentioned the drama with Wang An yu and Fan Ping Ping 's brother will be aired in Japan. However, I just wonder if it is required Chinese goverment's license thus those dramas whose main topic failed the new regulation could still be exporeted

It's rather baffling that the platform would ask the actor for "permission". Maybe they are just testing the water for interest by setting up the actor to "leak" the info. After Justice In the Dark is sold to Japan, I', guessing the rest of the platforms sitting on unreleased BL series want to try the same thing.

None of us are really sure how it works. What is the situation with Justice In the Dark? Maybe that will give us some insight. That series was first shown in 2023 (I think). Has its broadcasting licence expired?

No.  I think the license to broadcast is required for anywhere.  I mean, the Chinese don't want anything leaving the country that they haven't approved.  Japanese platforms don't require licenses from China to broadcast in Japan.  The thing is, WiK had a license to broadcast, I believe, or had at least past the first censorship license, but it was stopped by the Danmei source material ban coming down.

Yes, I don't understand that at all ... much less a minor character.  IF this actually happened, I think it is more about the production company testing the waters, which is a positive sign.  They haven't given up entirely.

Justice in the Dark also had a license to broadcast, and actually broadcast the first 8 episodes, before the plug was pulled.  Maybe it was like Spirealm where the platform was going to take a chance on it airing it, since technically it had a license.  But Spirealm air dropped all their episodes at once, in the middle of the night, and then immediately pulled them, saying it was a 'mistake.'  Justice in the Dark seemed to going the regular, slower airing route last year or two?, and they apparently got told to pull it.  And then out of the blue, this year Japan's WowWow announced they had bought the rights and would be airing ALL the episodes in Japan.

The platforms seem to be looking for ways to air these dramas.  If Justice does well, and isn't just pirated to heck and back, then I imagine there might be an option for other banned shows -- as long as they passed censorship.  I don't think they will allow any more new productions, however.

This is probably normal for CDrama adaptations. The reverse is rarer than a Dodo bird :-).

This way has its pros and cons. On one hand, since you loved the novel, it's super disappointing when it barely resembled the novel - which begs the question of why even "adapt" at all. But,  the advantage is that you can just watch it as a completely different beast. I think it's worse when they retain enough of the original but completely f up the characters/relationships (*cough*LYF*cough*).

Were you expecting something different from the fans? :-) I think most fans tend to be more lenient towards their fav's works. It's rarer to find one that has a more neutral approach. Sometimes I wonder if they genuinely think it is awesome. Or if they will say that even when they think it's crap; all to protect their idol.

 H19279:

I haven't seen MM.

I liked Bailu's energy in her earlier works and liked what I saw of her performance in Once and Always. But her performances since then have been rather hmm. I think part of it is because the scripts are limited. It's essentially the same story with some differences here and there so it's the same emotional beats and the actor just copy and paste their performances.  I mean, there are no new stories just different ways of telling, but these traffic stars tend to star in the same kind of dramas (xianxia) which just makes the similarity more overt.

Ah, yes. They like to group them in blocks of 5 years. Wang Yibo must be the top one from the 95s tier, yeah?  Yang Yang and XZ are the top for the 90s liners.

It's early morning on March 20 in China, which Xiao Tan Huo consider their birthday, since that's the day his fans were given that name by Tan Jian Ci.  Sprite, one of his brands, is also joining the celebration, so there's lots of videos and art dropping for the celebration.  Here's the Official International Fan Club's video:

6 more days until March is kaput. I'm guessing the melon is just that, melon? Where's the crying gif???

On the other hand, I've ordered the snail instant noodles that TJC is the spokesperson for. I'm a sucker for instant noodles. Hopefully, they'll get through custom OK. It will be funny if I enjoy them more than the ones that I tried in the shop.

the snail noodles for me is an aquired taste. 😂🤭 I got some samples from a friend and I have to say that I don't really know how I feel about it. it looks like crry noodles but it doesn't taste like curry noodles. so my taste buds are off. and the fermented bamboo is way to steonf for my liking...and I'm usually very good with bamboo even fermented kinds.
