Joa:

Hi guys, I'm back from Hengdian and Hangzhou. Didnt get much of tjc here but i brought my XL figurine. This is the only shot i took cos almost all the actual filming locations were out of bounds to tourists..

I also went to the spot for the MK promotion event in April and took photos of the surroundings. The rest are just tjc endorsements i found along the way.

And the luosifen restaurants there were another level of stink! They put my instant luosifen to shame.

Thank you for sharing your pictures. So many TJC-related sightings.

Loved that you took your Xiang Liu figurine with you. Did you get strange looks from people when you took pictures or posed with it? I took my XL doll on my trip to India last year (yes, I'm a child despite my advanced years :-)) and the looks that I got when I took pictures with it were....

 Kokuto:
I can't believe all those packages.  I do add stuff to ramen / soba, but it's all stuff from my refrigerator, not included with the packages.  Half the time, I prefer to just make some miso soup and use somen noodles.

Some people just eat instant noodles without adding extra ingredients??? Weirdos! :-). Instant noodles can be an entire dinner. But, yes, this one comes with so many extra ingredients. I would have added some veggies if I had any on hand.

I love miso and soybean paste soups. Add some proteins, some veggies and they are great for noodles or rice. Yum, yum.

 Kokuto:
I'm not sure I could handle that much spicy.  I don't think my taste is delicate, by stomach might be. :)

If you don't add the chilli packet, it should be OK. The soup does have other spices, but it's not spicy by itself.

Lol.. no i didnt get stares cos there were more attention seeking/attracting people around. There were many ladies in full hair, make up and hanfu doing professional photography with their make up artists and photographers.

I only took this shot with a blurred background at the entrance, thinking there would be more to take later. However i didnt come across any more lyf locations for the rest of the 2 days i was there. Hengdian was quite disappointing.

I did stumble upon the first day shooting of luo yunxis new drama. There was a booting ceremony and 5 min fan meet which i missed because of the rain. Later they were shooting the actual drama in one of the locations and i waited outside near the casts' caravans with my friend. I probably caught 1 second glimpse of Alen Fang from a distance away but no lyx. Hahaa..

IKR?  But college students are not healthy eaters and have no taste buds.  lol

I love miso soup too, especially with tofu and wakame.  So good!

I will be adventurous and try it, if I can find it at the Asian market store.

I've seen pics of all the people in costume.  But some places are also pretty crowded.

Two, or maybe three of the sets used in LYF are torn down now.  Qingshui Town, and that one where Cang Xuan got crowned, and XL walked up the steps to take the near dead XY with him for 37 years.  Plus, I imagine his army camp was temporary.  The rest of the sets seem to be in use alot, as I see them in plenty of dramas, like the throne rooms and the market streets, and the outdoor veranda he and XY talked in for the first time after the 37 years.

Oh how cool!  Though the timing for the booting ceremony!  aaahhh  But it sounds like a good trip.

 Joa:

Yes i thought i would see the market, streets and all those places u mentioned but they were not open to public! There were huge sections of the maps which were permanently marked out of bounds and reserved for filming only. I didnt get to take my XL out again even after walking around the entire QingMing Riverside.

We were also a year too late for the staircase which was so iconic! My friend and I met on the TTEOTM page and the staircase set was built for that drama. We would have loved to visit it!

Yep overall it was still a good trip.

I can't believe they tore down that TTEOTM set.  That was such a big and amazing set, and lots of productions used it.  A real shame.

That's my understanding, that if they are filming on it, it isn't really open to the public, though some folks seem to at least get a peek at what is filming there.  But seeing any of it would be cool to me.

Yep they did block up certain areas when filming. We came across 3 to 4 film sets which we werent allowed to go near. One was lyxs drama, another was i think with liu xueyi, according to the guy who would let us thru But there were parts of the attraction which were marked permanently in blue below. The largest area was walled up and had no name or entrance. I guess thats the studio.

Oh i just searched and realise the veranda and TuShan house were in another park we didnt visit!!! Lol..  ok a reason to revisit!

Yes i think the TTEOTM set should never have been torn down! It was in almost every period drama we watched the past 2 years!

Wow.  There is a lot that is blue and blocked.  I'm trying to figure out where the big parade field and the palace set is.  I see the wall with the gate and towers.  There's a lot I don't recognize though.  Avenue X visited last year, I think and did a couple of videos.  She did get to visit the Qingshui Town set, right before they tore it down.

Exactly!  It wasn't old and they were still using it ... alot.  It had so many decorative elements too.  I hope whatever they replace it with is AMAZING.

Like these? They are in other parks. There are a total of 7 to 8 of them with separate admissions.

YES!  That's the palace and parade ground I was talking about.  So cool!  Oh, so they are in a different area / map.  That's an awful lot of walking!

Yes so much walking! They can be quite far apart too, like a 15min taxi ride away.

It would be fun to wear the hanfu and get your hair done with all the pins and dangly bits.

Oh no. Was it not as you expected or were you hoping to see more actors? It would have been good to see Luo Yun Xi, but Alan Fang is a good sighting.

You take such nice pictures. The place is big; it's awesome to see all the sets that we watched in the dramas. Thank you for sharing :-)

No i could not bring myself to dress up like that. Lol.. Too embarrassing.

I thought it was more like a very big and quiet Disneyland. The insides of the great halls were full of photography and merchandise stalls. 🤣  The familiar streets and houses which i saw in so many dramas and was looking out for, were not in the main parks. I should not have assumed so.

The shell and the white sash as a nod to  Xiang Liu!
