In the drama, I still feel his supporting character vibe throughout. 

The way the writers are bending over backwards to make him more of a protagonist in the second season, based on what we know of that awful script is laughable. It's a pity that TJC is involved in this mess, but I can't wait to witness the book readers' wrath.

Yeah they give him more screentime than TJC you could feel how forced it is 😭 we can’t even imagine less in season 2 😅

All the other couples in the show, including Feng Long and Cang Xuan's friendship, have more chemistry than them. The chemistry between that dude and Xiaoyao is nonexistent.

xiaoyao must have really lost her brains when she became a princess. now i wish an ending where she didnt end up with someone (ala pricess de montpensier)…

Xiang Liu saves that dude? Nope, he saves himself and claws out of that cave.

Xiang Liu comforts Xiao Yao about her father? Nope, the dude does and embraces her too. In the novel, that dude didn't comfort her. It was Xiang Liu, he even kissed her forehead!

Xiao Yao travels the ocean and islands at the end due to Xiang Liu reminding her she always has a place there? Nope, she goes to settle down in Qingshui Town instead since that's where her and that dude met.

This is what I hate so much he’s always taking her love when he’s doing nothing at all and she’s hurting my XL after everything he did and been there for her don’t make me remember how heartlessly dumb stone heart she is. I’m here rooting for her happiness when I started this drama but wooohh she’s so irksome 😤😤😤😤😤

For real, I don't even care about her character anymore. I just wish there was a way for Xiang Liu to be alive, that's all. Enough about that woman. I liked her better when she was the WXL dude. Better acting too, I was almost convinced she was a man.

This is so funny. I started watching this because of Deng Wei. Freaking Deng Wei. Pause to digest that.

Yang Zi annoyed me to no end in Ashes of Love, but I decided to give it a try. Meanwhile, I DID NOT KNOW WHO THAT TAN JIAN CI DUDE WAS. No idea whatsoever. So the only happy ending for me is that I now know who he is. That alone made my entire decade better lololol
