my nephew has watched some drama here and there with me and he really likes them, he cant stop talking about my girl ( which he saw 3 episodes of 6 mos ago) and he liked My Name is Kim Sam Soon.
any one know any other ones that a 12 yo boy might like?
Maybe
You're Beautiful
I know this is in the Korean section, but maybe he'll like Don Quijote (Japanese). It's really funny.
I'll try to think of a few more.
I highly recommend Don Quixote for him. Also Hong Gil Dong is pretty innocent and fun...Told from a guy's point of view. Meitantei No Okite is funny, comedy and more geared toward boys. Very innocent but funny.

I thought the same!
It's better to keep it Jap, because there are many Jdramas for teens, tweens or just for fun. Maybe Stand Up!! although I don't think that's a recommendable subject for a 12 year old.... ._.

i didnt see the drama, but i distinctly remember the anime NOT being something i would let a 12 yo watch. twincest any one?
I don't know how bad it was in the anime, but it didn't seem bad in the drama. But he's not my kid...lol
Edit: You meant Stand Up? I don't know what that is about...lol or OHSHC?
I'm going to add Nobuta Wo Produce. There is nothing dirty. Triumph over bullying. The formation and strength of loyal friendship both between the boys and with a girl. There is no sex talk and it has a happy ending.

Going by that then, he shouldn't watch DQ either. It has alcohol consumption.
If he liked Kim Sam Soon I'm pretty sure he would like Flower Boy Ramyun Shop.
From J-drama side I'd say Tokyo Ghost Trip, Asuko March, Hammer Session, RH Plus and Fuuma no Kojiro.
They're really good ones.
