uplifting j-dramas

hi, i just completed my first drama, 1 litre of tears. it was suuuper depressing, but also really good! I liked the slice of life family aspect to it, and also that it wasn't super long either. it left me wanting more of the slice of life happy school environment that took place in the first few episodes of the show. so if you could, i'd love any recommendations like that! (nothing super sad please...)

Flying Colors - thats one for oyu and fits perfectly
Bunny Drop - not school but it is about a little girl moving to her family member
Our Little Sister - not per say school though there is also a school girl there but again a family movie

oh cool, thanks everyone! @Lou (i can't quote ppl cuz my account is new) i did watch my little sister a few weeks ago, and really liked it! I love the director, hirokazu kore-eda. i will check out the other recs too.

as for winnie, i am interested in college dramas too, since i am college age, so thank you for the rec!

Some school dramas, but more happy than sad:
Cheer☆Dan - comedy, sports, competition
The Queen's Classroom - kids fight with their new and very strict homeroom teacher - very good drama
Tsuiraku JK to Haijin Kyoshi - romance comedy, very funny
Hammer Session! - con artist as a new teacher for the class of misfits, comedy
Blue Birthday - FL travels back in time to save ML and and solve the mystery of his death
Hajimete Koi wo Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi - romance comedy, forbidden love
IS - Otoko Demo Onna Demo Nai Sei - very nice drama about intersex main lead, who feels to be a boy, but have to attend school as a girl. It was quite moving.
Joshi Kousei no Mudazukai - school comedy with many crazy characters
Yuru Camp△ - school club enjoying winter camping

Movies:
Orange - FL tries to save a boy, who died a long time ago, with letters sent to her past self.
P to JK - cheerful and sweet romance comedy of an older cop and a high school girl - if you can get over their age gap, it is really nice movie.
Tori Girl - comedy about one crazy competition involving man powered airplanes. FL is part of a college club, which builds such airplane.
Yell for the Blue Sky - inspiring and really uplifting movie

In many main roles here is Tsuchiya Tao and I would say, that many of her roles are kinda uplifting. I really like her as an actress. :)

You're welcome! Hope you enjoy the rest of Orange Days. The acting and the story is good. I watched it more than a decade ago but it's still a favorite.
