Basically I want to watch some mature, strong bonded and passionate love/romance of grown ups with chemistry that you wish they are a real couple in real life. The Female is strong and independent but the male lead still protect them like a man. Some of my favorites are: The parents in Moving - Mi Hyun and Doo Sik acted by Jung In sung and Han Hyo Joo. Flower of Evil - Do Hyun Soo and Cha Ji Won acted by Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won. In L.U.C.A The Beginning - Zi Oh and Goo Reum acted by Lee Da Hee and Kim Rae Won.
An example that I'm not looking for is for example: Crash Landing on You or Descendance of the sun. It's too lovey doovy or not mature looking enough for me. Personally don't find the Female leads character independent enough although their chemistry is good.
The first drama that comes into mind is The Double (2024). It's a Chinese drama and has a strong, independent FL and a ML who is protecting and supporting her unobtrusively. I'm sure you would like it.
Another one is Birthcare Center. It has a unique plot and is really good. It has a strong, independent FL and her husband who is supporting her through everything. I loved the scenes with them.
Other dramas with strong/independent FL and protecting/supporting ML:
- Happiness (both leads are strong and support each other)
- Mad Dog (strong FL and protecting ML)
- My Journey To You (strong FL and protecting ML that grows to be strong)
- Reset (independent FL and supporting ML)
- Love Between Fairy and Devil (innocent/naive FL who grows to be strong and independent, protecting ML, one of the best chemistry I've ever had in dramas)
- Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (FL is literally strong but also independent, ML and SML are both protecting)
- The Long Ballad (Strong FL and strong ML, character grow that leads to supporting/protecting each other)

It's older but The Princess's Man has the best chemistry I've ever seen in a kdrama and mature, strong leads. I'd also say The Legend of Shen Li - both leads are mature and have excellent chemistry.
