Post-Drama Addiction, Send Help...

Just finished The Prisoner of Beauty 😭 Now I’m dealing with major sepanx. I need a new drama... something super romantic with a solid plot. Any recommendations? Help me heal this heartbreak 🥲

Hey! I actually just finished The Prisoner of Beauty and I as well need to heal from that beautiful masterpiece.... 😂  Umm but here's a few I'll recommend you. Some I haven't watched in a while, buttt if my memory serves me right they've got that good romance and solid plot you're looking for. 

Historical:

  • Fall in Love- This is a Chinese Republican Era drama. So it's on the historical side of things. It's got a good plot to keep you moving along and I'm obsessed with the leads. It's been a minute since I've watched, perhaps time for a rewatch?? lol
  • City of Streamer- Also a Chinese Republican Era drama. NOW.. if my memory serves me right, this is an open ending drama? But I remember stopping at like a halfway point for my "happy ending" of the show, so if you want a definitive happy ending, find a good happy ending stopping point. I would tell you the ep I stopped on but I honestly don't even remember...  Still worth the watch if you want that romance. And it's also been a while since I've seen this one but I believe the plot is good for the most part.
  • Unchained Love- I absolutely love this drama... I've rewatched numerous times. I love the chemistry of the leads and the jealousy of the cold ML and seeing how he falls. It's kind of similar to the prisoner of beauty in the fact that the ML is a colder, (people are scared of him) kinda guy at first, and the FL warms him up. Happy ending for our leads, worth the watch.
  • Blossoms in Adversity- Okay.. this must be my favorite historical drama of all time. The chemistry between the leads is just *chefs kiss* The plot line is so good. We love a FL who is smart and can obviously take care of herself, just like The Prisoner of Beauty. This one's a bit more of a slow burn romance, but the plot makes up for it, and I'm in love. The ML is also a character who people "fear" at first, but with the FL he is literally the complete opposite.. With a very happy ending might I say...If you loved Prisoner of Beauty... try this one out, hopefully you'll like just as much as I did.

Modern:

  • Go Ahead-PLOT IS EVERYTHING..... my emotions were over the wall. Such good chemistry between the leads, and the acting is just so good. Is it romance heavy? No. But the plot makes up for that. But we do see quite a lot of romance between the leads that is just so pure. We see the ML chase the FL and see a really beautiful family and life drama take place. But girl lemme tell you, if you wanna take your mind of off Prisoner of Beauty try this out.
  • Love Me Love My Voice- Yup yup yup. The romance and chemistry of the leads here is also... *chefs kiss* The ML falls immediately for the FL and he's such a green flag. So seeing him chase her is absolutely adorable. It's not plot heavy like the others, it's actually so light, it's quite nice, we really get to focus on the romance between our leads. And the secondary couple is so cute as well. Worth the watch for a good romance with absolutely 0 drama. 
  • I May Love You- I love this drama for the chase of it. We see the ML reject the FL only to regret it and chase her. I love the romance in this drama, it's cute, it's simple. Not like the POB, but it's a cute watch to get your mind off. 
  • My Little Happiness- Another lovely romance drama. ML falls first, tries to get her to fall for him

Based on what's on your watchlist it looks like we have a lot of similar tastes! So hopefully you find at least one of these to your taste and will enjoy it. I could list lots more for you, but I'll cut it here... haha. Happy watching!

Wow, thank you so much for this! Honestly, my watch list is kind of a mess as some dramas have been sitting there for months, even over a year. I usually start them, enjoy the first few episodes, but then end up stopping halfway through for some reason. But when I discovered Prisoner of Beauty, I binged it non-stop. I even stayed up all night and went to work with only three hours of sleep! .. that’s how much I loved it! And what’s funny is, it’s not even the type of genre I usually go for, but it became the first historical C-drama I actually finished and completely fell in love with.
I’m so thankful for all the recommendations! you have no idea how much I appreciate it. I’ll definitely check them all out!

No problem!! I have the same problem with my watchlist... There's a few on my currently watching that have just been sitting there... hahah. Prisoner of Beauty is just so good! I definitely binged it and messed up my sleep schedule as well.. hahah.  Hope you enjoy!!
