One of the main reasons I drifted away from J-dramas was the recurring theme of exaggerated masculine superiority and overly submissive female leads—flinching at everything like startled pets. Some shows lean so heavily into awkward or secondhand embarrassing moments that it becomes hard to sit through. I haven’t watched a huge number, but quite a few made me feel socially awkward just watching. It’s not that I mind topics like romance or intimacy; it’s more about how they’re portrayed—often overly focused or unnecessarily emphasized in a way that feels uncomfortable.

I still like jdrama, and want to watch something like cinderela closet.

May i get recommendations ...60-80% similar type dramas?  I never enjoy i get makeover for my crush tropes but i fell for the ML here. He is so pretty, and he makes us swoon. The overall its warm and cute!

Possibly, imo...

Also you might like the movies Princess Jellyfish  which has a similar plot and ML who also crossdresses and High School Debut which has the ML helping give the FL a makeover .

thank you for all the suggestions, i have read the horimiya manga so i will pass on that and watch the rest!!, i will tell you my reviews, when i complete!htankd

The first title that I remember while seeing the word 'makeover' is Nobuta wo Produce but no one's crosdressing, and it's a bit old.

And maybe:

Dame na Watashi ni Koishite Kudasai (Gentle ML helping FL in everything including, live in his house, looking for a job and chasing another man, and maybe some makeover but more like advice about what to do what to say and what to wear iirc)

Yugure ni, Te wo Tsunagu (Gentle ML helps FL gains her confidence, adapting in big city, and building her carreer and goal)
