I would love to watch a BL drama or movie with a plot like this:
Someone close like a best friend or relative is secretly in love with the main lead (ML) since a very long time.
A love interest appears in ML’s life.
The story develops to the effect that the viewers may think the ML and his love interest will get together.
But in the end, the long-term friend/relative wins ML’s heart.
The reason why I wish for such a story:
I watched several BLs with the above described plot but with the main difference that the ML choose his love interest, while the one loving and supporting the ML for such a long time is being left behind heartbroken or the writers give him some last-minute-dude, what isn’t satisfying at all.
Although I know the outcome to 99 % from the very beginning, it still frustrates me every single time. The more the one secretly in love yearns, hopes and suffers, the more I wish for his feelings to finally being reciprocated.
To be honest, the ML’s love interest wins the ML’s heart in no time and their happy ending feels superficial to me. On the other hand, the one with the secret crush has a deep bond with the ML and understands him like no other one. For me, such a from-friend-to-love-relationship has what it takes to last a very long time or even a lifetime.
