Hello everyone,

I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this query, so please let me know or move the thread if it belongs somewhere else.

I am trying to find a classic Asian action/crime movie that I watched about 20 years ago. It must have been released before the year 2000, and the plot shares a lot of similarities with "A Bittersweet Life" (2005) and "A Better Tomorrow". It feels like it could even be the original story or a remake of a similar concept.

Here are the specific characteristics and scenes I remember:

  • The Protagonist: He is a thin man with long hair tied back in a

  • His Role: He works as a loyal bodyguard for a powerful mafia boss. The boss is a tall and fat man.

  • The Conflict & Betrayal: At the beginning of the movie, the protagonist saves a young girl from being abused. It turns out she is a relative of his boss (either the boss's daughter or his sister). The protagonist falls in love with her, and when the mob boss finds out about this relationship, he feels completely betrayed, stabs the protagonist in the abdomen, and leaves him for dead.

  • The Refuge: The protagonist manages to survive and takes refuge on a boat/yacht docked at a pier, where the girl goes to find him and helps him recover.

  • The Climax: At the end of the movie, he returns to help his boss during a massive sequential fight inside a warehouse. He fights multiple enemies one by one, and there is a major sword/katana fight where he uses swords to defeat them. He ends up severely wounded and almost dies at the end.

Does anyone know the title of this movie, the main actor, or the country of origin? Any leads would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
