Ji-N:
Hi Ji-N,
I hope you’re doing well. I’m following up once more regarding the possibility of adding GagaOOLala as a Service Provider on kisskh.
We submitted the Google Form and also attempted to add our streaming link manually but it was rejected by a Database Moderator. We also noted the forum announcement that no new Service Providers have been added for approximately three years with additions currently on hold pending the v7.0 update.
We fully understand that MDL has its own policies and processes and we are happy to follow any relevant requirements. However, as GagaOOLala continues to grow as a key global streaming service for Asian BL and GL content with audiences worldwide, we wanted to provide some additional context as to why we believe we would be a relevant and useful addition:
Out of the 250 BL and GL series we carry on GagaOOLala, 196 are already listed on kisskh and MDL users have consistently asked for us to be listed as an official streaming option for these titles.
Of the 136 Service Providers currently listed on MDL, 55 are streaming services and 81 are YouTube channels (attached images). Given MDL’s role as a user-driven and community platform connecting English-speaking audiences with Asian content, we believe having GagaOOLala represented alongside the existing providers would provide meaningful value to MDL users seeking for a one-stop global streaming service to legally watch a substantial number BL and GL titles already in MDL’s database.
We also wanted to better understand how the v7.0 update may affect the addition of new Service Providers. From our understanding, adding a Service Provider is primarily a database/listing matter, so we would be grateful to know whether there may be an opportunity for new providers to be reviewed before v7.0, or if there are any current considerations that would require us to wait until the update.
With that in mind, could you kindly help us better understand:
What are the current eligibility criteria for becoming a Service Provider?
Were all 136 existing providers added through the same application process, or were some added directly by the MDL team?
Is the Service Provider database completely frozen until v7.0, or can new providers still be reviewed manually?
If there is a specific reason additions need to wait for v7.0, could you kindly help us understand the relevant limitation?
Will there be a new application or review process once v7.0 launches?
We are not looking to request special treatment or bypass MDL’s policies. We simply hope to understand the process and whether there is a reasonable path for GagaOOLala to be considered, particularly given the existing presence of our titles and continued interest from MDL users.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We would greatly appreciate any guidance you can share.
Best regards,
Kwan
GagaOOLala
