I did not comment to argue that MDL should add new genres. I did not state that I think their position is the result of prejudice or discrmination. I asked why, I got a response - and I did not argue the point. In fact, I was grateful to have received a response - again something to the effect of - we have to be careful because the owners are conservative.

I simply decided to share that exchange as a possible explanation for why GagaOOlala has not been added as a provider. I do not presume to know why - and as before I'd simply be grateful to know why. That, I think, would be helpful.

Ah, I see what you're saying. Yes, the not knowing for sure can lead to a bunch of thoughts, and no way to know how much truth to them there is or not. It's hard not to let frustration run with speculation (at least it is for me).

When I go to search on MyDramalist  I always add the  Gagaoolala  links

I don't know if we're going to make it on this one, but at least the votes are there.

If anything, maybe it's a matter of time. It'll probably take years before anything gets approved and implemented.

Already posted in the topic from the Gaga Admin... but I don't know if it has anything to do with homophobia or if it's more because MDL doesn't give a crap about countries other than Korea, which basically has no LGBTQ representation in their media. Maybe it's a mix of those two because everybody knows how backwards Korea is when it comes to LGBTQ.

I don't have a problem with KDrama, even though I don't watch any, but the biggest Japanese or Thai actor could be involved in a heinous crime while there's a new KDrama that announced their supporting cast... and I'd bet the supporting cast would get a news, while the crime would never be even mentioned. It's a shame, I really liked MDL a few years back when there wasn't as much bias and you could see news or articles from other countries on the front page at least a few times a month. 

This has been long overdue!!! Since 2021 we have been asking why is such an important streaming service for Asian LGBTQ titles  isn't on here and yet so many obscure networks and smaller channels were added???? Something's afoot!
