To keep MDL a positive and welcoming space for all drama fans, we want to remind everyone of our expectations when it comes to comments and interactions.

What’s not allowed:

  • Harassment or personal attacks

  • Racist, sexist, or hateful remarks

  • Vulgar or threatening language

  • Any form of toxic or disruptive behavior

Violations may result in content removal or account action. Let’s keep the conversation enjoyable and drama-free for the dramas, not the comments.

Thanks for helping make MDL a great community!

Nice to see the reminder above the comments sections. Could I suggest adding a link or something on how to report comments? I feel like a lot of users don't know process, I've noticed a few support tickets where you've had to tell people to use the report feature.

I got a message (no-reply) that one of my comments (part of it was included, but I have no idea on what drama page it appeared on and how long ago and to what I was actually replying etc) was deleted because of the reason "harrassment or personal attack". Since I don't remember (as I've said) what the discussion was about or who the OP was or what they actually wrote themselves... I am a bit confused here. So anyone can basically report anything they dislike, for whatever real or invented reason, and when the mods/admins eventually get to it, they decide based on that one comment that either/both/the whole thread is to be removed?... but all the commenter receives is the notice that the comment (unidentifiable) has been removed due to (cause). So they can't even check if the other (OP or answer) comments were removed too, or it's a case of "only one flagged, only one removed". Or, since the whole comment isn't included in the automated message, what is the actual cause for it to be flagged.

Even if the comment might not actually merit being removed? If it can't even be identified and has been already removed then what's to say it actually broke the rules or not?

I won't argue with the new manner of applying the policy, since TBH I am really not that invested into any/all kinds of comments (whatever, no comment is Shakespearean work). I just really, really wish that going on this WILL be enforced on all kinds of comments, not just whatever the team gets to (eventually) and/or unilaterally decides to remove/let it be.  And maybe that some form would be found so that there is some transparency on how the flagging happened.

Anyway, thanks for the hard work, hopefully MDL will stick to this and clean up some of the actually vile comments and accounts spouting them so that the banning button might be of less use.

You can ignore those, we are just trying to clean up old reports which were not supposed to send out any alert.

Thank you for the reply - and again, for the hard work you and all the mods/admins are putting in this site.

So let me make this clear: inappropriate language means vulgarities, swear words and such? Reading profanities laced posts makes me very uncomfortable (and has been ever since I joined 5 years ago but since nobody complained I figured it was acceptable!), even though what they say may be rather interesting : such as reviews or explanations of plot points etc.  Many of your main users' posts (etoks or Kate for example!there are many others!)  are full of such language (f***ing, sh** etc.). Are we allowed to report such posts or are they off limits?

Don't tell me to block them: I am for the freedom of speech but things can be emphatically said without foul language and obscenities!
