Cameo vs Guest Star

Hello! Could anyone explain to me the difference between guest star and cameo? I've seen both terms be used on the Taxi Driver 3 cast page. I'm currently working on adding cast members to the page and I'm unsure which 'role' to choose. Thank you!

To identify which role you should use depends on the Korean terms/words used.

For Cameo role on MDL, the Korean terms/words are 카메오, 우정출연 or 특별출연.

For Guest Role on MDL, the Korean terms/words are 게스트 or 그 외 인물.

Cameos are usually one to two scenes (don't add much to the plot). Guest stars are slightly involved in the plot (in a small way), have more scenes, might even show up in different episodes

While this might be generally true for Western productions, the countries on MDL have different words/terms they use for each cast or crew role, which sometimes might not match the general definition of the role.

We are working on a comprehensive list for the cast and crew roles for each country, which we hope we can publish in the following months, so that it is clear for everyone.
