You want Thai PBS for this. They have many two hour mini-series filmed in different parts of the country. Pleasant, earnest short stories with local information and a bit of travel enticement. And food. It is Thailand =)
Bilboa maintains a list of Thai PBS with subs here. Links on that list are mostly out-of-date I think (Thai PBS changed link format recently). Look on the individual MDL pages, I'm trying to keep those current. Let me know if you want to watch one and are stuck on finding it.
(And please watch via their vipa.me streaming service rather than a pirate site. Thai PBS is free to stream so there's no reason to go elsewhere for titles they've subbed.)
Forum thread for Thai PBS here - if you want to ask for recs, share yours, ask questions or talk about any you've seen.
Thun Thai is an anthology of six stand-alone stories set in six regions, each 2 episodes. Highlights for travel - The Recipe of Lasting Love is a wee road trip in Central Thailand. They seem to have run out of story early in The Forgotten Stone, so the end is a tour of historic buildings in Sangkla Buri, Kanchanaburi Province, western region), Both of those will show you a lot. All of the Thun Thai minis are worth watching - 12 hours and you'll have a taste of every region and some of the local culture, not just the landscape. Also - Journey of Memories, Nakak and Letter to the Sun
Thai Drama Club has a list by region here, including movies. I've seen nearly all of the first 34 listed, am happy to tell you what I remember of those, help you find them with subs and seek out more if there's somewhere you're particularly interested in.
What have you seen set in Songkla? I've only seen in it YT vids.
