Anusaya:
Should I take that as travel series, or is set in allowed?
"Don't Come Home (2024);" EP1 9:06 min; signs for Chumpon/Takupa PA District.
From the synopsis and how early the travel occurs, I'd be inclined to say Southern Thailand rather than travel. I might watch this one at some point, we could talk then. For me, personally, it would depend on how much was filmed in the house and what role the region played in it. My Boo has some famous Bangkok landmark buildings but otherwise could have been anywhere, while The Cursed Land was more tied to a Muslim neighbourhood on the edge of Bangkok and the area in the south they traveled to. (If you like moody horror, that's would suit 15 B IMO.)
The criteria I used when I set regions as my bonus challenge last year was how strong a sense of place I got from the work and how much I learned about the location and the people who live there. (My top recs for that: By the River and Nha Harn.) Did I feel almost as if I had been there? Was there something about it which felt different from works filmed elsewhere? Like the distinctive Isaan landscape and music, or the northern mountains, or how The Trapped 13 was so much more tied to land and people than "foreigners to the rescue" The Cave.
Historical lakorns and movies, in the end I decided no - they tend to be mostly filmed on sets or in and around a big house even if the place is named. Also no to school/campus youth series. Cause You're My Boy was mostly filmed on the streets of Bangkok, so yes to that for the city, but The Gifted, Enigma or Bad Buddy could have been anywhere.
But that's me. Personally, I'm alright with everyone deciding for themselves what level of challenge they want and don't expect others to be as careful as I am. Working out some guidelines would be an interesting group project though and I'd like to hear what JulyMoon thinks.
