a rare moment where i liked part two better than part one... but these four episodes were the perfect finish to the series. also margot-robbie-as-barbie-level of casting being done here.

seo ji hwan is not your typical leading man in a romcom drama, but god i wish we had more. my introverted, socially awkward ex-gangster king.

a masterclass in how to write (and act!!) villains who are just unapologetically awful. no redemption, all karma.

a drama that is truly carried by the incredible acting of the main leads that it makes you forget about the convoluted plot and occasionally torturous pacing.

this 40-episode cap is killing me. double it (pun intended) and give it to the next person (aka me).

an 8-episode drama that actually makes sense for it to be 8 episodes. my biggest critique with this drama is that it suffers from not using the chekhov's gun principle - like why talk about throwing away the paper planes if you're not going to show me that? why show a sign about car accidents if no one is going to get hurt? you know? but, otherwise, it's a good one day binge drama.

add yeon du to the list of "absolutely perfect, sweetheart, angel of a kid (most likely to a single parent)" in k-dramaland. founding members include u-ju, eunha, and yi jun.

a drama that i may be too stupid for bc i had to go to reddit every two episodes to make sure i was getting it.

(sigh) that ending... are we doing a season 3? i don't know if my heart can keep doing this.

okay you might think 6.5 is too generous and i hear u. my baseline is 5/10 for a watchable show. and then the extra 1.5 point is for the acting from everyone but hong su zu. annnnd that's it.

i rarely fall asleep watching dramas but i fell asleep TWICE and i truly don't think it was because i was soo tired from work. also sidebar: i wasn't convinced of tae oh OR hye won's motivations. like they keep saying hye won has stuff she wants to do.... but what? just to work in politics? 

the only good thing about this drama is giving us lee jae wook in that white button-up with the sleeves rolled up and the arrangement series on ao3 because it should've been tae oh and hui ju and everyone agrees with that!!!
